Easy 1-2 for Mercedes this weekend, hopefully they have some problems in the race ro make it more interesting. Verstappen do well to finish 3rd this weekend.
Bottas changed most pu components so will start race at back! What a mess in pits, bet there will be more mess on track.
Bottas new contract seems to have spurred him on and put it in pole for sprint. He was even cutting the air for Lewis!
So Bottas starts the race on Sunday from the back, basically regardless of what he does tomorrow. So for Mercedes, do you sacrifice Bottas' result tomorrow (and maybe 1-3 points) and have him try and destroy Verstappen's sprint race and force him down the order for the main race? Perhaps an unintended consequence of this race format, Bottas has very little to lose by taking Verstappen out in the Sprint race. Verstappen will have to race around 20 laps against an opponent for whom a collision/racing incident. is a good outcome.
Remember who we're talking about here. He's hardly the greatest blocker the sport has ever seen. Somebody rocks up in his mirrors and he seems to fold. Holding up Max might last three comers at best.
I was getting hopeful at one point of a surprise McLaren pole!! They are super quick but damn the Mercs look like beasts here. Depending on the sprint though McLaren could end up P2 or P3 on the grid come Sunday.
Can I ask a question? In Run 1 Q3, Gasly tows Perez tows Verstappen In Run 2 Q3 Perez tows Verstappen tows Perez Coincidence or conspiracy?
I would say good team work, remember both Red Bull and AlphaT are owned by same company!!! It's only logical to use everything you have to win. I don't like teams working together to help each other but the FIA haven't made any rules to stop it as far as I know. Probably not possible to police even if they did. I also worry that 2nd/junior/partner teams may be bending the budget cap rules to the benefit of the 'bigger' team.
