I fully expect NP to rectify the consistency from these players and tbh, I think in the main, they are confidence players...I imagine with NP's experience and knowhow he will get the best from them......gelling is key with the rest IMO, they will be dropped and moved on if they don't.... I imagine the same will apply with any of the others..
Again I wish I had your confidence, none of them have ever been consistent (and I accept that since Wells and Palmer are concerned, our form has been pretty poor) ODowda is fast approaching the how many more chances do we give him point for me, he seems incapable of producing the whole package and waiting for a feel good factor whilst playing them is a risk, I wouldn't play Wells, ODowda or Palmer tomorrow personally, make them wait for their chance. PS:- I still don't believe that any coach can make a player consistent, only the player can make himself consistent and cut out the personal errors and improve their decision making, which for certain players has been part of the problem for 2 years.
This article reckons that NP has managed to cut the wage bill by up to one third. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...Y8OJJaH1CQH0rc_qvIv2SVGqohyGzTOFw9KF067uu_Byk
That ties back to the point I made earlier, his wage budget will be tight this season. I still think King & James will have taken a fair chunk of whatever budget NP had.
Both look class -you. can see why NP got them here. James is going to be vital in the middle and will go a long way to where we finish in the championship.
No arguments here! They will probably need some game management to last a full season I expect, but NP can handle that.
We will agree to disagree reference King as I said he was on the scrapheap after spending a season in Belgium and not playing and having been released. He would not have many if any suitors and happy to just to get a year on a basic wage. I wouldn't mind betting that nobody that we released is earning more wherever they are now than when at City, in fact I would suggest that most if not all are earning less, possibly even Didehiou he ended up at a crappy Turkish club with stadium the size of the gas. To reduce the wage bill by a third is quite remarkable.
