I hope he sacks his agents after this.

As a pure defender he isnt that good, a wing back maybe. Could prove useful if used wisely.

Hume is most certainly not rubbish.... it was perhaps unlucky for him to be injured so much, cos I reckon several clubs would have been in for him.

Now however he has a fight on his hands to get his starting place back.

That’s Twitter for you mate, I literally only use Twitter for F1 stuff it’s good for that.

I remain on the fence about Hume, stance hasn’t changed was ok if he stayed or went, hoping he can now do an Embo and make himself a real asset.

The club is doing good things now, they will get the best out of him I’m sure.

I like Hume. Really rated him before he got injured. Not hit those heights since but still think there’s a player in there.

I’m going to say I’ve watched a player I wanted out of this club become an important first teamer (Flanagan). I put that to Johnson. If he has the same relative effect on Hume, he’ll be a fantastic asset to the club.

that said, having effectively a 3 year contract to play with allows us time to ensure a return if he does go.

Absolutely embarrassing. His contract ran out, fresh one on the table, took his time and weighed up his options. Think we'd all do the same.

People forget that he’s human mate. And there’s very few consider what they would do in that situation.

imagine if we’re under contract fir a company through an agency and the contract is coming to an end.
Another agency gets on touch says “hey, we can get you a lot more money at a much higher profile job”. Would we all just say “nah I’ll stay where I am thanks” if we have a few months to decide? Not a chance

I’m really not arsed about him as a player but think the problem here was his agent.

Seems like he was badly advised.

I would have withdrew the contract offer, he’s clearly waited for a better offer elsewhere, doesn’t show the same commitment as the rest of the squad. There’s a player in there but his reluctance to sign up has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Regarding the shirt photo of him not looking particularly overjoyed….

I can’t recall ever seeing a photo of him laughing.
You can’t compare his picture with Luke Onion for example as Luke had the biggest grin ever and looked well happy to be with us.

I reckon Denver probably never smiles much and far from him looking a bit gloomy he’s just being himself.
There’s a picture of him on Roker Report (on the Neil Graney part) when he was younger and his expression looks similar.

I’m sure he will give his best and I’m pleased he’s signed.
I do think he could eventually replace Aidan McGeady.

i don't think we will ever know the full story, fans rarely do get to know it all.

maybe the injury and following rehab is the reason for the delay with both parties wanting to ensure he could carry on and give his all but imho, the club have handled this situation as well as they could and made it pretty obvious they would not pay 'over the odds' to keep him.

for the record, i like him as a player but feel he really has to knuckle down now and improve, i think he got away with a lot last season due to no real competition, now he needs to work at it.

Think this is a bit of good business by the club.
keep him fit and he's a good addition to a league one squad, we've got lots of options left side with Denver involved so we might see less of Geads if he continues to not cut the mustard.
the whole issue wasn't handled in the right way by him and his agent but I think this is the best outcome for all concerned.
