Yeah i know mate. It would open a right can of worms. Would be nice for them just not to lie and i mean everyone who sits there.
are there any circumstances that allow pledges (from whatever party is currently dictating to you) to be broken
Didnt your parents ever tell you not to break a promise kiwi? Who would trust you, especially consitently breaking them!!
They certainly do, seemingly on a regular basis. Cmon mate, how much money has been spaffed away to private companies, donors, vanity projects, big business not getting taxed, money for whats app contacts, a ****in yacht for christs sake, hs2 etc! This could have all paid for the drop in the ocean that social care will actually receive. All parties have ignored this elephant in the room for as long as i can remember. The party in charge for the last decade even made huge cuts to social care. The master plan, tax those who are on the breadline, increase poverty and tough ****. What for? Social care wont change, there will still be huge waiting lists on the NHS in 10 years time ffs but it swells the coffers for those who need to top up their millions. Its ****in perverse. The rich dont give a flying **** about the NHS, they all go private and thats the way they like it. So dont go making promises, guarantees or pledges that you have no intention of keeping.
The money could easily be found for healthcare by scrapping Trident. Billions could then be diverted to help the most needy in society instead of having a weapons system that will never be used against an enemy that doesn’t exist

At some stage someone has to calculate a futility level: when does that ambition become unrealistic? A threshold at which working becomes pointless, so why do it?

“Caused by NHS staff” ? Oh that’s ok then, nothing to do with a corrupt and useless bunch of ****s in the government who couldn’t even give me basic PPE to protect myself and my family….all the time giving their mates vast amounts of money to line their own pockets. No wonder good people are leaving healthcare in droves…..possibly myself included.

And this is the great propaganda machine at work! Unbelieveable. Everyone should open their doors at 8pm and boo the NHS staff for causing this backlog! My sister in law is actively looking for a new career as her real time pay cut has just been robbed from her. Disgusting
Will be interesting to hear the finer details of this social care plan. Its reported that the 86k cap on care is only for the physical aspect of care and not including accomodation at premises, food etc. If true then people have well and truly been had over! Hey, it at leasts claws back in 36billion spaffed on track and trace, which is more likely what the tax increase is all about. Oh what mugs we are!
Bitterly amusing backlash from old school free market Tories having a bash at Johnson and Sunak for turning the Conservative Party into a Frank Field/Paul Embery like ‘Blue Labour’ party. Lots of moaning about principles on taxation, manifesto promises etc. Meanwhile Priti Patel authorises Border Force boats (and the navy) to force migrant laden boats in the channel to turn round and head back into French waters. When this is ‘safe’ and when their French counterparts agree. In other words it’s a completely empty threat/promise because it’s never going to happen. But it also ties in with Blue Labour’s anti immigration stance, whereas of course the free marketeers want whatever the market requires…
I’m no fan but they have been completely upfront about the fact that this scheme only covers care, not accommodation costs. In reality of course it doesn’t even cover social care as all the money for the foreseeable future will go to the NHS. Do you think that the state should pay a pension, pay for care and cover the hotel costs of those elderly people who need residential care?
Oh I have taken it that we can all go down to Dover beach with boat hooks and push the migrants back into the sea with shouts of go back to where you come from. Pity I am busy this Saturday afternoon
