I think this game was the equivalent of the lions midweek team. There wont be many midweek who got real time today. The 100mil rubbish the guy nobody wanted and the flopper will play and the two dullard will hold the midfield.
yet he can't even make the squad. James is a big brute too. southgate type. Walker, likewise. brute. Trippier. Brute. useless absolute wastes of space on the left side. can't take a free either. chilwell, too flighty, southgate doesn't want him. (neither does tuchel by the look of it) dropped. trent, too light eight and technical. show him in midfield against some semi pros. same for bellingham. too technical doesn't really want him. Saka only gets a game cos he is deceptively strong. Picked bamford FFS
Well if you want to only be beating them 1-0 after 60-70 mins its a good way to go about it. a) leave the reserve LB at home and pick a **** RB living off a rep 4 years old so he can take frees (badly) b) pick a bang average one at RB c) stick the best one you have into midifeld and then make sure he doesn't touch the ball for most of the game.
He wasn't yesterday. He was very poor but not quite as bad as Bamford. I thought Trent played okay, definitely played within himself but that's what happens in games like that.
the bit i saw Trent looked pretty bad tbh but trying to work out what the point of that set up didn't seem worth the effort so i switched off . I don't really count these as games any more just defence v attack training sessions and the sooner we have a pre qualifying competition for the San Marino , Andorra type countries the better .
The whole set up was weird actually and Trent in the middle just didn't work. Nobody impressed me. I thought Bamford may have been a breath of fresh air but he was the opposite, looked completely out of place. As you say, it was like watching a training session.
yeah, he was absolutely useless in midfield. He never showed for the ball off the cbs or anyhting like that. bellingham left that also but got more ball. Until they put trent out wide right and got shut of james he looked like he should be playing for andorra. I agree with you as well. we got rid of friendlies apparently and ended up with the same number of international windows but with 3 games not 2 in them. Somehow. The reality is this system is pretty broken at this point. yes the egalitarian way is for all countries to have the opportunity to improve but we have to use the rankings to push the ****ter countries no matter who they are example:' scotland are 49th in the world. that would imo put them on the cusp of having to prequalify for a smaller more focused proper qualifiers. wales are 19th. england 4th. NI are 51st. andorra are 156th on the planet. gibralter 194th, san marino, Lichtenstein 189th, luxembourg 96th. Lithuania 134th. Estonia 110, faroes 114. sorry but hang on ,theres a vast difference between a small country with decent footballers like wales (they are small but have pro ballers) and these countries who are there to get the **** kicked out of them.
The ones i loath is the "countries" that when 3 down still just camp in their own box and never mind win they rarely even score against anyone but each other .
They're nothing more than an opportunity for someone to get injured. Not only a waste of time, but just wrong. Cup competitions generally have qualifying rounds so that those who are improving have the opportunity to progress and try their hand against the bigger boys. Andorra has got about the same size population as Mansfield - really, what's the point?
