Going to need another miracle in this match already. But we haven't got Mason to dig us out of a hole this time...
Only this time it'll need to be a miracle win. I can't see that a miracle draw like last week will be much good this time. If we win all three games, we'll be in with an amazing shout for the Championship. But if we fail to win just one of them, we'll be up against it - given that all three of our matches are the cricket equivalent of six pointers. The three wins wouldn't just be about the points gained by us, but also about the points not gained by three sides who are all above us. The only two things I'm hanging onto our that (1) Vince loves playing against Warks, and (2) they did choose to bowl first.
Jesus. Really difficult to pick between Gubbins, Dawson and Organ for worst shot. All horrendous, all thrown away, all off Rhodes.
Hah!...you couldn't make it up, Fuller out first ball leaving it and the ball hits his bat anyway! Comically atrocious batting...
Most teams batting first struggling Glouc all out Glam, hants 8 down, Somerset 7, even Kent taken 6 wickets
Will Rhodes will be laughing in the bar tonight. And should buy himself a lottery ticket. He'll never take a 5-fer like that again.
Bowled out before lunch on the first morning on a goodish pitch in favourable conditions...pitifully weak display.
If leaving Mason out was our choice, rather than being covid related, then in hindsight it's been a good choice. Because, through absolutely no fault of his own, a non-batting leg spinner is of little use without any runs on the board. You either get thrashed out of sight, or need your seamers to run through the opposition with the new ball, or need to bat sensationally well in the second innings.
Are they thinking about the prospects of bad light shortening the day's play. Hence the hurry!! There is still the T20 to come!!
I'm still expecting a Warks lead - because regardless of this great start, we only made 89! - but if can limit it to 40 or 50 runs, we'll still be in the game.
