Sure thing, up in the Jalisco hills most of the time, near to Lagos de Moreno / León. So, all ok here inland. Just the Narcos, Politicians and Police to steer clear of! Plus (whisper) the virus.
Morning all. Clear blue sky I am glad to see today. I have noticed that over the past few days that the blackberries in the hedgerows have swollen up quite a lot and are just about ready to be picked. As a youngster I would help pick loads of them for turning into apple and blackberry pie, or jars of blackberry jelly to have through the winter. Like many other things my loganberries didn't do very well this year, so had better start taking a tub out with me and collect some fruit that I did nothing to grow. Have a good day everyone.
In our garden it was a bad year for apples but average for pears - the latter blossomed before the frosts in May. Black and redcurrants were good. Hardly any sloes this year (again frost at the wrong time). Also got Cornellian Cherries which go into flower before the leaves appear in spring - well and truly frost resistant. Altogether it's been a difficult year here with floods, saturated ground and low temperatures (frosts in mid May and the subsequent summer hasn't really appeared).
Morning all. A sunny day is ahead of us with an expected temperature of 27°C. Taking the day off tomorrow to go to a charity fund raising BBQ some distance away. Our friends live half between us and the event, so suggested that we drove to them, and we complete the journey together. All this means it will be an early start, not something I do too often these days. Probably need to do some watering this evening, but the forecast for the weekend suggests rain could be returning. Have a good everyone.
Morning all. Broken cloud, but still dry and quite warm. According to the hosts for the BBQ we can expect rain this afternoon, so it could well be an indoor affair. Never mind, I have wet and dry weather gear with me, so should survive. Have a good day whatever you are doing.
Morning all. Bright and sunny at the moment, but risk of storms this afternoon. A splendid day out yesterday, meeting some people that I knew by name only as well as some old friends. The BBQ was moved indoors, which was a good result seeing as the sun blazed down from a clear blue sky, and the shade was very welcome. Back to the mundane today with a visit to the supermarket. Have a good day all.
Putting my pics from my phone to my compu. So, here is a Sail fish from July's trip to Zihuatanejo! It served 30, and was washed down with a fair few beers then Mezcals.
Morning all. Not a hint of breeze today and it is expected to be up in the 30°C's for the next few days. Lots of cyclists out and about when I went to the bread machine this morning. Our trip to town yesterday was altered when we had to divert and take the long way round following a cycle race that was underway. You cannot head towards a race, but can follow one at their speed. Then once we were in the supermarket there was a computer glitch at the checkout, followed by someone at the petrol station who couldn't get his card to work for ten minutes causing another hold up. All very time consuming and it was hoped to be a quick in and out trip. Looks as though I need to get out with the watering can as nothing more than a light shower has happened in the past few days. Enjoy your day one and all.
That big bugger you caught, the one that was bigger than the boat, how did that compare? And have you got around to watching The Shawshank Redemption yet?
The one wider than the boat was a Marlin, the other is a sail fish. Marlin are much bigger 200kg average and sails go to about 50kg. I am sorry, I need to watch it still. Will try to get it on a pirate DVD here, as that is what we do for films. Have a good Sunday Fez.
I guessed about right in my mind, 1/4 weight. I wouldn't have been able to comment on species. Enjoy your day.
Morning all. It is already getting very warm and is going to be hot this afternoon. I have now been invited to a French wedding which should be interesting. The reception is well planned, with a marquee, lots of food and drink, and a disco. The bride is Irish/American/English, and the groom French. Seems a shame that some relations living in the UK are saying they cannot afford the tests for covid on re-entry, so are having to give it a miss. The wedding was supposed to have happened last year, but was put on hold several times, but finally is going ahead. Must get out and talk to my French beans now that may produce a crop despite putting the seed in a month too late. They are going great guns at the moment so I am hopeful. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. It is going to be a hot one again today. The car that is sat in the sun already says that it is 33°C outside. La Poste has just gone by, so no nasty bills coming here today. Mme La Poste has stopped for 20 minutes at our very elderly neighbours house. You can sign up for a service where the posties will check up daily on the elderly, and provide them with some basic services such as bringing some bread, or helping in small household chores. It is possible with help for people to continue living at home until a very advanced age providing a care system is in place. I am surprised that the Royal Mail is not doing something similar, unless things have changed since I moved. Have a good day whatever you intend to do.
