Strangely enough I was watching clips of his greatest quotes yesterday out of the guardian He said simplicity is key don’t use fancy words Keep it simple
Can you imagine shanks Bob Paisley and Ronnie Moran having to go on an FA coaching course and be told that bollocks
Castro won’t approve, but this is one of the funniest transfer news threads ever Comments are well worth the read! (you never know though…we might get him on loan…)
Is the double pivot featured in the Football Manager games? A lot of the modern football terminology does seem to originate from there.
I haven't seen it. It's just another term for two sitting midfielders, I don't know why it's caused so much grief
Me neither tbh. I heard Bryan Hughes describe Smallwood and Doc as a double-pivot last season on iFollow a few times so I googled it and thought ‘oh, there’s a proper term for when a team plays two holding midfielders, one a ball-winner and one box-to-box’. I didn’t realise the jargon would cause so much grief and controversy
No religion, especially 'scared of their own shadow do as I say not as I do' Catholics twats. Plenty intended.
It's a sport where players do backflips after scoring, have daft haircuts and wear bright orange boots. If the glove fits...
I'm not trying to prolong the debate, but my definition of a holding (/sitting) midfielder is very different to a box to box midfielder? Genuine question.
Ehhhhh???? I don’t follow your logic. What do haircuts & celebrations have to do with renaming old tactics to try & look clever??
They both sit deep off-the-ball in 4-2-3-1. When a team has the ball, one stays back whilst the other goes forward to link up with the attacking players.
