    of course he is.

he played 10 games for cheslea and was dumped out on loan then sold off to everton. thats the definition of reject.

salah - handful of games, dumped on loan to Fiorentina and sold to roma. just cos they were not bothered to even buy him back means little.

I have travelled extensively in central and Eastern Europe. I saw racism everywhere I went. It’s not just football supporters, unfortunately….although football seemingly attracts the hard right wing element the world over. You’re right though, until national teams are punished properly, it will not stop.

should be a 5point deduction or so just to make damned sure they don't qualify for the world cup finals where they will get to travel to an Arab country and potentially play african and south/central American countries.

    they should be nailed.

Unfortunately you will never get rid of racism, it's very sad but true. What you can do though is stop Hungary and any other offending countries from having supporters attend games.

They were harsh on Sterling, he tried really hard to miss that opportunity but the goal was just too big.
Seriously though, I'm no great fan of his but I wanted him to get a hat-trick last night. Those ****wits really need their prejudices shoved down their throats.

You'll get rid of racism when you get rid of the concept of race. I think the whole thing is nuts... People don't suddenly change colours or features when you cross a border, we're all just the same a gradual gradient of features changing.

Salah and Mane are both African but obviously look very different. Race is a stupid concept.

It is. I think the tribal concept of us and them is more fitting for examination. How do you make someone into one of "us" either by adjusting the concept of what "us" is or teaching them something.

this is a tribal concept rooted deep in our base brains and we all have it in there. I don't know you, are you going to steal my (insert favoured possession here)?

the concept of other seems to be something people are writing about anyway.

We need to break this calling each other racist as a solution to racism thing. All people are tribal its buried deep into the DNA. we have to resolve bringing all under the one roof of whatever that is as us. be it shared values or common good or whatever.

colour is absolutely the most stupid and pointless excuse for discrimination and marginalisation.

this is why theres not one single model of a hateful trump supporter ;) they have formed a tribe of sorts based on fear and loathing and self interests, and this is why they want to sew discord amongst others and for example in europe many on different sides like russia, us hawks and brexiteers want EU to fail. they cant imagine how that pot of all sorts can get anything agreed.

People don't have alliance or bias when born, issues is bred into them. So surely it shouldn't be "how do you make someone into one of us", it should be "how do we stop the segregation"...

Imo all forms of discrimination are an extension of egocentrism - the further away from "me" you are the greater the fear and/or mistrust.
I believe that the dehumanisation of certain groups is a rationalisation of that prejudice, not the source of it.
I also think that a lot of the people in this country who make racist comments are probably not true racists at all - they are just using the most taboo subject they can find in order to outrage.

I really like your thinking here and wish we lived in a world where everyone was accepted as equal no matter what their physical appearance.

The bit about not suddenly changing colour or features when you cross a border isn't strictly correct though. You only have to look at the US border with Mexico. Granted the US is a land of immigrants anyway including Mexicans but physical differences are a very real thing. Physical features such as skin colour or deep set eyes have evolved to cope with the country/climate one lives in. So we will never get rid of races unless climate change doesn't play out in the way we think it will.

I expect miscegenation would eventually iron out the differences. Once, hair colour would have been a clear signal of tribal ancestry but not any more. Although ginger gags and dumb blonde jokes still exist, there's no real reference to origins in them.

its a very deep back of the brain reaction. If i view anyone as other irrespective of why the back of the brain starts your danger triggers and no matter what your intentions or rational minds says you still have those.

Theres literally millions of years of evolution gone into programming us and them, be it tribal or predator and prey reactions. . Its subconscious stuff.

Like when you see a manc you want to cross the street.

Segregation on its own doesn't do it. thats why sports teams have a positive impact sometimes and sometimes not. sports have given some people a way in to the Us but for others it excludes them. Massive issue with LGBTQ in sports for example.

Still very very few footballers openly discussing it. One in the US right now I think? but LFC fans singing rent boys at cheslea at home after being told they shouldn't have done it to Gilmour at norwich.

Us and them. We have to break the "other" in our brains somehow.

Its actually easiest call everyone other and isolate yourself <laugh> if you treated everyone with the same common respect then make question like where are you really from? wouldn't be asked to people.

Its an interesting topic thats only really developing out of a depressing civil rights battle into the BLM campaigns and everyone needs to try come to a common understanding.

I can really only applaud when players take a knee and that, i can't understand the perspectives as i havent' had to live them, so i can only try to understand how my perspective needs to change and help where i can especially in educating my kids.
