Only 4 games on this weekend due to international games, this never happened a few years back. I blame the Prem for it, filling up with foreign players, nowhere for british players to go than the lower leagues.
IMO each prem team should be limited to a set number of foreign players per game.

So are you acknowledging that foreign players are more talented than British players otherwise British players would still be playing? Why do you want to lower the standard?

How many British players in league one have been called up for international games this weekend? After answering that could you also answer how that is the Premier leagues fault?

    TIA

Don't know the reasons for it but when we dropped into this league four years ago iirc there was only about three fixtures postponed on international weekends.
Now there's only four not effected, think there's a lot of youngsters loaned to our league like we've done which adds to the influx of a higher standard playing for Under 21s internationally but other than that I haven't got an answer.

Ive noticed myself how much stronger League 1 is nowadays. Remember the days when we were in the Prem and we used to play Hartlepool who were a mid table/top half league 1 team at the time.
The players they had and the standard of Football from them then was very amateurish compared to what its like in League 1 now, where some of the quality of football and players are at a high level.

The standard is definitely improving , the squads are bigger and players a lot fitter than years gone by. Whilst the money hasn't trickled down I think the effect of academies have where the top clubs release their youth players they end up in lower leagues.
