Ref was bent for sure. Ireland denied a clear penalty and no excuse for extra 30 seconds. Then laughing with Ronaldo after the final whistle.

    He's Slovenian...

His Wiki page currently says, "Matej Jug is a biased referee". Sounds about right.

Shouldn't have been on the pitch to do it. But it's amazing what you can do when you pay off the officials.

I wish. On heavy painkillers for ruptured disc pending surgery. No alcohol allowed. Not even in Cork!

If the slap had been on Ronaldo you can guarantee that a red card would have been shown.

There was a VaR review in added time which took about 30 seconds though.

Pape Matar Sarr started for Senegal v Togo and that's the whole match, if anyone's really, really bored.
Very strong side, so it's a good sign that he's able to get into it already.

Just another example of the bent officials from the Portugal v Ireland game:

Just a clear foul and a red card.

Heard some TalkShite this morning, and they are certainly living up to their name. Ronaldo mentioned several times in rather glowing terms (actually completely over the top as you might imagine) but not a thing about the slap, while again mentioning how professional he is etc! However all changed as "journalist" Martin Lipton was on with an eye witness account of the match, which of course was again rather sickening in terms of praise for Ronaldo/God, and the missed penalty was actually mentioned but quickly dismissed. He even mentioned the slap... drum roll. He said the defender was touched on the shoulder and went down like a sack of spuds. So there you are. What you can see on the video here clearly didn't happen, and of course if you were just listening to the radio without seeing the clip here you would not be any the wiser. I obviously don't need to mention that the Connely incident wasn't mentioned in any of these Ronaldo love-ins. I can hardly wait for his return to the PL now, can you?

Incidentally hasn't Ronaldo-God a history of getting away with it, even in his first PL stint? I'm sure there was a case at WHL when he stamped on the chest of one of our players who was on the ground without any punishment. Considering where it was I suspect it was whoever our right back was at the time. Also I remember him diving (oh how he will be welcomed back) between two defenders, touching neither of them, and getting a pen. Anyone remember these two incidents?

And all this talk of God has stopped mentioning the rather important point which is that The Republic was cheated out of a result.
