Best of luck Badger. I can understand your mixed feelings, but after the last 15 months or so you've had, you deserve it.

    Anyone seen this .

On Monday, Cornwall Council said 4,700 cases may be linked to the Boardmasters festival held in Newquay.

About 800 of those positive cases are people who live in Cornwall.

Jack Stacey, from Staffordshire, told the BBC he caught Covid at Boardmasters and wished he had not gone.

"My whole family's got it now so I regret going to be honest… It wasn't worth it," he said.

The 20-year-old, who is not vaccinated, said he was "shocked" at how ill the virus made him, leaving him bed-bound for nine days.

And my idiot golfing partner is still insisting that he’s going to Cornwall this weekend (having just got back from 2 weeks in France) because “I’m alright…..” :emoticon-0121-angry

And testing has revealed that of those with immune deficiency 1 in 10 have zero antibodies to protect them from COVID despite having been double jabbed.

    It’s started well.
    £5 train ticket to Gatwick.
Check in delayed until 4pm, unless you pay £10 to get in early. I was checked in at 1pm free of charge.
Asked about the “ultimate” WiFi, so I can watch football later, if we are streaming. Cost £5, got it free.
Just need Saints to win now.

I can’t believe how American antivaxxers are putting their faith in Invernectin (a horse wormer). I can even understand if they didn’t believe in medicines...crazy, but consistent....but they are happy to take medicines, just not this particular group of vaccines.

I would like to be really smug, but we have loopy loos here as well...just not so many.

The US logic for this is that horses don't get Covid, so Invernectin must be safe. <whistle><whistle>

Ivermectin is very effective at killing COVID in a petri dish. The problem: the amount of Ivermectin necessary to kill COVID in a petri dish is also fatal to humans.

The antivaxxers have seized on the first part while hand-waiving the second, and yeah, it's nuts. A single, retracted medical study is gospel; dozens and dozens of studies of the vaccine are Big Pharma trying to force microchips into their brain.

Please let them take it in large doses then …. Not that I wish people I’ll, but, in this case, the Darwin rule should apply …..

Also love the way they ask people to do their own research....by this they mean search the internet for anecdotes and crazy conspiracy stuff that supports your own viewpoint....the crazier the better. What it doesn’t mean is look at controlled medical studies....because that’s really hard.

Not just hard: that information is flat-out not to be trusted. But, like, the (mediocre) stand-up comedian who hosted Fear Factor, provided colour commentary for UFC fights, hosts a podcast where he routinely says dumb **** that he later admits came from a place of complete ignorance, and takes a lot of DMT? That's someone you should trust for medical advice. Also, after routinely saying that COVID is not a big deal, he now has COVID and is treating it with literally every substance known to man (including, inexplicably, antibiotics and corticosteroids).

I will put this on here because of the health implications if we have a bad winter for flu combined with Covid.

Received a text from the GP surgery 27th Aug, asking me to phone to book a flu jab.
Later the same day received a second message saying don’t call before 1st September.
31st August, third text saying don’t call before 8th September as the surgery is short of staff.
Today, message number 4. Due to freight issues and lack of deliveries we will not be able to book any flu vaccinations until further notice. Please DO NOT call to book your flu appointment. We will contact you in the near future.

Hopefully just a localised issue, (I will try to find out from someone I know who works for a NHS Trust) but if being repeated around the country, it could become a problem.
