Costa not confirmed yet and Bobby Kamwa will probably be released tonight to find a club. But looking at 15 wages gone iff the books here plus Berardi and Pablo who went home to Castelon
Lots of media talk about Summerville going out on loan to Dutch clubs, but his performances convinced Bielsa to send Poveda out instead. Also stories about Cresswell going out on loan, but why we are trying not to embarrass ourselves in Prem2 Div1 and need our best kids. We have a number of England U18,19,20s and Cresswell is now an U21 International and Drameh is also due to join him, we have Internationals right through the team from Kleasson and Hjelde from Norway to Nohan Kenneh U17,18s for England, Charlie Allen for Ireland, Summerville from Holland, McKinstrey from Scotland McGurk, Miller, Greenwood, Bate, Gelhardt all England stars. This is a start
19 wages off the books including Costa, Kiko Berardi, Poveda, Alioski and Pablo and 13 senior academy graduates for the U23s. A few million quid as Costa and Kiko is circa £6m per year between them alone
Orta asked why no midfielder said we had a difference of valuations for O’Brian and we now have Forshaw back. Well that sounds like a lot of bull because we tried to sign Cuisance last summer and it fell through, but we didnt get a replacement, so we knew we wanted one. This summer we knew Forshaw was back but still went for Gallagher who chose Palace and then we went for O’Brian.
I can’t remember the exact words he said but Bielsa believes that once you have peaked in the U23s it does nothing for your development to remain in them. You’re either good enough for the first team or not. If you’re not he has to decide will you get better and develop further going out on loan, he simply doesn’t believe it’s right that leaving a player in the U23s is good for development.
I agree and why I feel this is the final year for Gelhardt, Greenwood, Drameh and Summerville, McKinstry, McCarron, Jenkins and Kenneh. Cresswell will probably replace Cooper for next season but hoping to see Gelhardt replace Roberts as he is now the biggest area of improvement required by any player
This made me laugh (the start of the article off of the BBC website): Dan Moylan, host of The Square Ball podcast After going a bit crackers following promotion last summer, it’s been more considered at Elland Road this time around. Most of the early action centred around waving tearful goodbyes to our title-winning heroes from the Championship: Pablo Hernandez went back to Spain, Gaetano Berardi went back to Italy, and Gjanni Alioski went back to his home planet.
I thought so too until I read this: "The winger is said to be earning €3m per year at Elland Road and Leeds will continue to pay half of it during his time away. There have been suggestions that Leeds want a loan fee to sanction Costa’s move to Valencia, but it remains to be seen if they are receiving a sum." https://insidefutbol.com/2021/08/31...der-costas-wages-during-valencia-loan/526815/
A clickbait site that will have no knowledge of the loan deal agreed by Leeds. I’d just calm down a touch
Why? You think LoL was involved in the deal? He was making a point that NONE of us have a clue about the details, so why are you trying to pick a fight with him?
As WJ said in his post, I don’t know and I don’t know how they know either. Our club tend to keep fairly quiet about these things.
Today I've read it's, we're paying half his wages, they're paying all his wages, we're still paying his wages, we get €2m for the loan, we get €1m for the loan, we're getting nothing for the loan. It's a €6m fee at the end of the loan, it's a €10m fee at the end of the loan, there's no agreed fee at the end of the loan
So having analysed the whole detail of Gessa's post, Costa has got a 50% wage increase, we have received a 3m Euro loan fee, and another 16 million Euro at the end of the loan
