absolutely! For what it’s worth, we have a bloody good side which is capable of challenging. I just wish we improved those chances with a couple more additions.
This is our spending over the past 5 years. This is mid table level of spending but incredible value extracted thanks to our scouts and Klopp. please log in to view this image
Thought I read somewhere Julian ward has moved up the ladder and might be an internal succession to Edwards? Might be mistaken though and tbf don’t know anything about these people to have any idea if that’s good or bad.
I've said it on here many times that there's an expression in sport 'the smart take from the strong', this could well be our mantra.
It's something to talk about more than anything, the board would be fairly ****e if we all agreed all the time. Not something to get het up about.
Of course not. You are clearly not reading all of my posts. I want more signings…..I’m just a realist and know that we are run as a business and not a plaything. If the club could afford to spend an extra £50m, do you not believe that they would? If they can’t afford it, they can’t afford it….it’s pointless me whinging about it tbh, ain’t gonna change anything except my mood.
What's amusing (in a totally non-funny way) about this is that Mike Ashley is famously skinflint, yet averaged out over five years, we've only spent @ £5.5m a season more than Newcastle. And at least Ashley hasn't built them a stand, then charged it to the club with interest.
Is that a pot to fund Becker's wages so that he can save attempts on goal from Mbappe if we get Madrid in the Champions League.
Unexpected to us, but I was reading an article a few days ago in which they cued up his successor 6 months ago and he has been working with Edwards. That could be just responsible succession planning... Or it could be that they've known for a while that Edwards was leaving so got him someone to mentor.
Jota is more of a goal scoring threat than Firm. He probably isn't as strong in the build up and assisting, but he's definitely a goal threat.
The Team Beyond the team there is very few good enough or who aren't always injured to step in. The Chelsea game showed we lack attacking depth. Obviously Jota was forced to come on early, but in the 2nd half Chelsea were pushed back with 10 men and we didn't bring another attacker on, Keita, Ox and Minamino all on the bench. Instead we brought on Thiago (ok he might have created something but he isn't a goal scorer) and Tsimikas to play LB!? Klopp clearly didn't trust those attacking players, with probably justifiable reason. Origi wasn't even on the bench.
