Yes I think that's fair comment, I am not sure any of us expected Jose to be sacked a week before a cup final, and I think your right if he had been in charge Tanguy would have played.

He’s a record signing and has been at the club for over 2 years and has done what exactly?

Maybe difficult circumstances at times but other players have managed to do more than he has in the same period.

Spurs can’t afford to carry passengers if they want success (trophies) and Ndombele has been a passenger since he’s arrived.

Not sure how that compares with those brought in, but younger players generally get paid less.

    Ok.

    I'll bite.

How are you measuring this, and by your measure, who has done more than him in this 'same' period?

More than him in midfield? Tbf only Hojbjerg comes out with credit from that sorry bunch. The rest all let you down in other ways. Ndombele is undoubtedly a better footballer than Winks and Sissoko but at least with those two you knew they give their all every game.

The fact the Spurs midfield is weak and he still can’t get picked regularly is even more damning on him surely?

Where is this player you describe we could do with someone like that..

We don't have a creative midfielder. He's scored more? I must have missed that.

He has scored 5 PL goals for us which is more than Winks, Hojbjerg, Sissoko and Lo Celso put together over the same period.

£10 million a goal Hmmmmmmmmmm . He is supposed to be playing further forward than all those players so not really a very strong case is it.

It wasn't meant to be any sort of case. When he first joined I think he was supposed to be the Sissoko replacement and Lo Celso the Winks replacement. In practice they are both competing with Dele to replace Eriksen while Hojbjerg and Skipp replace Sissoko and Winks.

In all competitions Lo Celso has scored 8 in 69, Ndombele 8 in 75, over same period the hopelessly out of form Dele has scored 13 in 71

Ndombele was meant to replace Dembele and Lo Celso was meant to replace Eriksen.

Dele has replaced himself, just with a much poorer version.

Neither Winks or Sissoko were ever really meant to be regulars in the XI but circumstances meant they had to be.

Teams change and evolve as the players change, I don't think Ndombele is anything like a Sissoko replacement because again you would look for Ndombele to play further forward and have a goal threat while Sissokio only ever worries the corner flags. Lo Celso could be our playmaker but we have yet to see him settle into the team for any decent period. The team has to play according to it's parts but that is not so often these days because every manager wants to impose his own way. Managers like Harry Redknapp are rarer now. Managers who look at their squad and work out what is the best way for them to play. I am not keen on forcing players into roles that is the norm now.

    Kessie Watch
Just when I thought I was out...

Calcio Mercato report that we're preparing to offer Franck Kessie a £135k a week contract once he's free to negotiate with clubs next February

Personally, I still think this is his agent using us to play silly buggers and get a bumper contract from Milan

You're proving my point. Of course you, any many others, would argue this. Tanguy was no more overweight that Huddlestone was at his biggest, yet he's not often given the benefit of the doubt and described as a physically big or hunch bloke. Huddlestone went through a period where he needed to sort his diet out to get back into shape.

He was never berated for it.

Tanguy also needed help to sort his weight and stamina out. It has been inferred that some of his issues seemed from the psychological challenge of new surroundings, a new country and a new league. Mourinho found him some of the help he needed. He was improving. No?

Why is the guy being berated for needing help and support?

Is it because he cost so much that he should just be invincible?

Is it his fault that he cost so much?

I mean he did decide that Pini Zahavi was the perfect person to be his agent...

You're moving the goal posts. It's asked what he offers. He has scored more goals than all other CMs combined and created more chances, as many per 90 mins as prime Dembele, all whilst being less familiar with the league / country than all of them.

Yet somehow none of these stats count.

He is a CM, in the same way that Winks is. He's not as often played as AM as you are suggesting, even though I think he might help us more if he is played further forward ahead of two deep CMs or in a three.

I just don't understand the negativity. I'm not saying he's the perfect player, but it's weird how he is judged more harshly by some fans than even Mourinho did.

    I don't get it.
