It's beyond weird that the US have left behind loads of the latest up-to-date armoury for the Taliban.

They've left helicopters they've claimed have all been disabled. Why not blow them up?

Weird. Absolutely. Why give your enemy billions of dollars worth of supplies?

Especially in regards to helicopters! Couldn't they have been used to evacuate people?

I see Dominci Raab is in front of a commitee today, can't be arsed with most of the nonsense from it, but what I never realised was how high the death toll was from the Kabul suicide bommber. 13 US Troops and 170 Afghans! I thought the media reported nigh on near half that number of Afghans being killed, maybe I just missed it or the numbers were played down.

I'm sure it was two bombers, mate. The last I seen the dead count was about 100 but wasn't sure if that was the final number. Sadly not.

Yes mate, like you I was aware it was reported as two bombers, so I can't be sure if that was the total number of the two attacks or if it was ever verified as two attacks.

It appears from reading further into this, the bomber was not actually in the sewage canal as originally reported, which answers my original question, on how the hell did he get into there.

"[The bomber] walked straight into the middle of those families waiting." outside the gate - so not in the sewage canal, victims were then blown INTO the canal.

These people never stood a chance...

Just checked, mate. It was one bomber and the other was a gunman.

It was a horrible day. You could tell by the Western countries alerts that a horrible fate was awaiting a lot of people that day. Awful.

Think that was half of the problem. Most of the Afghan army were ex-Taliban looking for paid employment and free weapons.

Taliban militants in Afghanistan have shot dead a policewoman in a provincial city, relatives have told the BBC.

The woman, named in local media as Banu Negar, was killed at the family home in front of relatives in Firozkoh, the capital of central Ghor province.

The killing comes amid increasing reports of escalating repression of women in Afghanistan.

The BBC has asked Taliban authorities for comment. The local Taliban promised to investigate, the family says.

Details of the incident are still sketchy as many in Firozkoh fear retribution if they speak out. Relatives supplied graphic images showing blood spattered on a wall in the corner of a room and a body, the face heavily disfigured.

The family say Negar, who worked at the local prison, was eight months pregnant.
