With Svens days numbered quicker then an episode of countdown, who who take the new hot seat. Are play-offs still a realistic option ???
I think McLaren would be a decent replacement. Looks like Sven's trying to play the boring Italian way of grinding out 0-0 draws away from home and I think Leicester would benefit from some positive management from a McLaren type figure. He's a good communicator too, so I hear.
As wind up thread go this one is pretty weak - mostly because we went through all this a few months ago when we were having our mini-crisis and Martin O'Neil was rumoured to be joining us - he did not issue a retraction like he did with the Northern Irish job which was interesting but the owners stuck with Sven. And personally I would love to have Heskey back, he might not be the most prolific goal scorer in the world but Bruno is the ultimate team player and would bully his way in this league - we made enquiries about him during the transfer window but Villa wouldn't let him leave.
I thought Leicester were cast iron certainties for promotion....or so the foxes kept telling us throughout the summer. What's gone wrong lads?
...ah we'll be there at the end.... or not, the great Footballing God in the sky decides these things nothing to do with money /manager/players/ fans...have you never wondered why at some games you know how it's all going to turn out... and it usually does... well that's the big friendly FB.G !..
Nothing - the season doesn't end in October after 11 games. Ask again after we play you in April - have a feeling that it might be for the auto promotion spot...
Being completely serious I'm not sure you have what it takes for promotion. I look at your team and am distinctly unimpressed considering how much you've spent.
Thanks for your input Simon - and I believe you when you say you're being serious - You'd never wum on our board would you
In fairness you're extremely easy to wind up and you were asking for it at the beginning of the season. I do think you could have spent much more wisely and if I were putting together a Leicester/Leeds XI it would be extremely weighted towards Leeds.
Obviously you didn't see us against Derby. And regarding "what happened to our promotion campaign" - we beat a poor Watford side tomorrow, we're two points from the automatic spots. So yeah, a disaster, you're right all of you.
I disagree, if our players were playing to their potential I think we'd have the majority. I'd have 4 of our back 5 for example (probably not Konchesky, too slow and thick for my liking, but not shocking either) and Beckford and Nugent at their best are better than Becchio and McCormack, as for the midfield, Michael Johnson is a Premier League player and Richie Wellens is right up there as far as Championship players go, I'd definitely have Snodgrass in though. Our problem is that we are underperforming at least half the time (so far), this is down to the manager. Some signings haven't been so good - but players like Pantsil and Ball were frees and are not first teamers anyway.
