I had nothing to base it on other than the fact he had no connection to the club and at the time were a club in the way down. This time we are in the way up and the lads will stick around for a couple of seasons at least and I think they will always have enough in their contracts to get a decent fee. Again that can come down to player and their loyalty to the club. Some players sign and know they will be sold within that contract period or run it down and move on.
Absolutely. In Wyke’s defence, we knew what we were buying. First 2 seasons he was never fit and when he stayed for he did his exact job, we just needed a more rounded player, which we now have. I’ve no bad blood towards Wyke, just as a footballer we needed better. I wasn’t upset he went, same token I wouldn’t have been sad if he stayed, although seeing what LND is doing, it’s good that he did.
Worst thing about that arseholes time running the club. The lad isn't some mid to lower table premier league clubs big prospect but Manchester ****ing United one of the biggest teams in the world. We let so many go we could probably have another 2 involved this season.
Aye to be fair to Maja he’s played Premier League and he’s made his Nigeria debut. He’s in limbo a wee bit right now but hard to argue he’d have been better off here. If he’d stayed and we’d gone up, we’d likely still have the 2 tossers running the club and probably would have been back in League One anyway.
Aye, it’s gone on for years but the last few particularly bad. Looks to me like we are currently on a ‘Southampton’ model, which as we progress up the leagues we can change to a ‘Leicester’ model. Now, if we could emulate Leicester (I’m aware the PL title isn’t realistic of course), well we’d all be proud of that. Magnificent club. Great to watch. Competing for trophies. Magnificent ownership got them there and there’s early signs we have a bit of that here.
I'm sure many of us will have been in situations when it's total chaos and no one feels safe or valued. It's awful and inevitably ends in disaster. That's why KLD has quietly put all the building blocks in place and the proper craftsmen to build something solid. It's only then you can start to 'furnish the house'. Donald put a few seats in but there were no proper windows or doors and no security ... ... no wonder players didn't feel comfortable and looked for a way out.
Let’s be honest Smug, we only see a tiny part of what this new regime are doing and it looks brilliant. We see the public side of the club, but the work that’s going on the background is likely 80% of the progress. Real shame STID aren’t filming this season!
Would be good 'STID 3 The Resurrection' but I could not see KLD allowing any insights into our club at all. Long may it continue.
I dunno mind, if you look an Amazon, you’ve got City, Spurs, Arsenal and Leeds all have them. I think if we go up and once the clubs kind of in swing and running slick, then they might. I agree they wouldn’t be keen to show the ‘work in progress’, and quite rightly so. We’d all love to see it though Let’s not forget STID probably brought them here in some way.
I agree - I don't think he courts the publicity like the 2 imbeciles before him. He will just quietly get on with the task in hand and hopefully we'll start to see the results on the pitch
I couldn't have been any more wrong with my thoughts on STID. I never appreciated the reach it would have and assumed it would put us in a bad light. I have a few mates in Arnhem and they loved watching us on Netflix and now they want to come over and watch one of our games. I've seen random blogs from folk across Europe who have been to the SOL on the back of STID. Incredible. I'd love to see us on Netflix with the new regime in place but I also have reservations that a camera crew just gets in the way. Jack Ross seemed to be really against it, probably for the same reason.
Aye could have gone the other way, but I think the Fullwell73 lads did a fantastic job of separating the circus from the fans. The fans and the passion for the club was out over brilliantly. It always comes up when I’m speaking to folk from other offices at work and such. The reach was massive. Reach brings revenue.
A sparkle in his eye a smile on his face a yearning to play in front of a full passionate crowd. Boy does he want to be here, what magic potion is our recruitment team using. As the beatles would say 'come with me little girl on a magic carpet ride'
That is brilliant. He looks excited and determined at the same time. The video from the keeper last night was great too. I still scratch my head thinking we have 2 Bayern young lads in, that really is credit to the team behind the scenes. Imagine having learned from Kimmic and Muller, and probably Nauer. You can be confident they are coming with superb attitudes I think.
Anything been said about Patterson going out on loan or even Burge, We have 3 keepers fighting for one space or is that normal now. we just signed a under 23 keeper the other day as well
Yep,I think the club have done their homework on these two,the right attitudes to adapt to the situation at hand,to us and the area. I'm proud of our recruitment this window......I'm aware most of us haven't seen these lads play yet,so,that's to come....but,it feels right to me and so pat on the back to those of us who could see it needed time.....and a loud **** off to those who were soiling themselves when we hadn't signed ten players in the first week of the window! I'm not going to name them....they know who they are!!
