Costa on his way to Valencia on loan for the season, not sure if there's an option to buy ... Spanish clubs struggling, so wouldn't be surprised to see Costa return next season
Serge Aurier, powerhouse right back, available on a free after terminating Spurs contract ... think there's an attitude issue though, otherwise he would be a quality signing ... he hated it at Spurs under Mourinho, probably can't settle under Nuno either ... whoever gets him, if he settles down he'll be damn good
Premier League spent £1.1bn this window which is down 11% on last summer which was in itself 9% lower than the previous season, so shows how the pandemic has impacted. Yet there have been 148 Premier League transfers which is up on last summers 132 which was up on the previous summer of 128. The big story is that almost a quarter of these transfers was freebies. Germany was the only league to increase spending £560m with Spain La Liga only spending £55m and Seria A in Italy only £50m and Ligue 1 in France only £15m. Which shows that three quarters of all deals done in Spain, France and Italy were free transfers or loans and many of those were 2 year loans with buy clauses later diwn the road. European football is bankrupt yet still trading players. PSG have signed Messi and have turned down £220m for Mbappe from Real Madrid when in a couple if months he can sign for them free. Can anyone explain why you refuse to accept £220m yet know you are going to see the player walk out of the gates for free? Massive money has been spent in France by Prem and German clubs and that money wasnt reinvested because clubs need to balance the books this will all start to unravel at sime point, wont it?
The only reasons I can see them turning that down is they are desperate to win the CL at all costs by keeping him they feel it gives them a better chance that and perhaps they think they can convince him to sign a new contract. All summer we've been reading how skink Madrid and Barca are and how they are desperate to off load players, yet Madrid can pay £220m for one player and God knows how much in wages. Thing is too, anytime I've seen Mbappe play against top clubs and defenders he seems to struggle, don't think he had a great Euro's either.
Great shout because FFFP rules have deffo been smashed to bits and by all the so called Super League clubs, like Juventus, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Man Utd, Chelsea,Barcelona nd although PSG refused to join they are now the Harlem Globetrotters of football. They even spent more in this window ffs Think your right about Mbappe who had a torrid Euro comp and di you see the video posted by Barcelona when Barca decided to play Junior Firpo as RB to counter Mbappe in the Champions League. He never once got past Firpo who played out of position too
Every now and again, there's a 'superstar ' that comes along, that you think ' I don't see it' and so far that's Mbappe to me. I know he's only young but playing in a **** league doesn't make you a superstar.
Obviously money means nothing to the board at PSG. Sport transfers are the craziest thing on this planet. my add to Mbappe he was gagging to play for Madrid team he always idolized as a kid surely if he wants out you let your man go then take what is offered which was way over the asking price anyway especially for someone in his last year. you now have a £200m loss and a unhappy player. all makes sense doesn't it lol.
Another way to look at it is Mbappe signed a contract for however many years, his decision at the time, no one forced him to, and PSG are holding him to it. Good for them. Quite refreshing in this day and age where players think they can just up and leave by reneging on their contract. More clubs should do it.
Makes you wonder if their is a roll-over clause that can be triggered by PSG so they dont have to let him go. Or maybe the trigger allows him to leave but not for free?
