The Gooners aren't so stupid as to spend £25 million on someone like Dan James He'll prove to be a complete waste of money - money that was/is desperately needed to strengthen other parts of the team.

Hjelde has just turned 18 - he'll spend all of the season in the U-23's. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great signing for the future but a LB, he is not. If he starts ONE premiership game at LB, I'll give you a full and unreserved apology Do you really trust Forshaw to have an injury free season ? The player who's just been out for almost two years ? And in any case, even at his best, he was never the creative midfielder we tried (and failed) to sign last Summer to replace Hernandez. Bate is just a kid....as for Hjelde, he'll play all season in the U-23's, though perhaps I can see him starting in an FA Cup game. I think it's also telling that Shackelton and not Drameh has been used as a back up RB. It's as if Bielsa really doesn't trust the youngsters. Will Summerville, Gelhardt or Greenwood start a premiership game this season ? I somehow doubt it.
Just caught up with the heated debate. Can we get a poll about whether we should sack Bielsa and Orta and bring in a team of the posters on here? It seems that neither Orta nor Bielsa have a clue what they're doing!
TBH, White is probably worth it - I'd swap him for Koch (though perhaps not Llorente) any day of the week and I'd be willing to pay £50 million for him too. Both Odegaard & Ramsdale are better investments than James as well.
Let's just say that the recruitment policy doesn't show much consistency and Leeds have made a couple of questionable signings - Rodrigo and James in particular.
For those blaming Dan James for choosing Scum over Leeds He's a young kid from Wales. He'd probably worry about signing for Bahdiff but he would be crazy to make career decisions based on which supporters hate which other supporters. You must know how utterly ridiculous your argument is.

A full season under Bielsa will mean the outlay for last summers fab4 will be quadrupled at least. Drameh is now on the verge of Engkand U21 status and is also on the fringe of the first team. Gelhardt and Greenwood were the leagues top scorers and both Scored goals for England U20s. Greenwood has played first team football and Gelhardt is sitting on the bench waiting. We paid an average price of £1m each for these 2 and they must be worth curca £10m each right now just in potential. Summerville had played first team for Feyonoord when we bought him for just short of £1m. If Costa was £17m imagine how much Summerville is worth, but I would again put him in the £10m bracket on potential alone. Lewis Bate already had a top reputation but hasnt had a full season of Bielsa yet but already stands out either as DM or AM. He has created goals and been unlucky not to score a few in only 3 appearances. Amari Miller had a big reputation because he is big mates with Jude Bellingham and the same age and both came up through Birmingham City academy. He is now making his mark in the 23s. Leo Hjelde already has a big reputation as a first teamer for Celtic and Ross County in the SPL and is known as the next Van Djik we paid a lot for him and Bate and then we have Sean McGurk a year younger than Gelhardt but both from the Wigan Academy and McGurk looks like he can play anywhere on either wing, midfield or up front. Hes already creating and scoring. These are all top prospects and will all be worth a shed load in the future
