Supposed to be staying at TA according to reports. Unless he defies the collective decision made by the PL and goes anyway.
I thought the only decision they made was that anyone going to a red list country had to isolate on return. Not so sure they have the powers to prevent anyone from going. If I was Raphinha, I'd go. You don't turn down your first call-up. There might not be another call-up for someone who turns their country down.
So, after a bit of reflection we have, A british player who has played in both the championship and the premier league, also some european games. Has pace and skill and only 23. Not injury prone. Question marks over lack of end product, that can be taught. Bielsa and orta and their teams will have done extensive homework on his performances for scum. As for the money, if the club can afford it maybe it's a good sign of the financial situation. Let's give the lad the support he needs and see how he does after a good few games.
His stats are on a par with Harrisons according to Orta. 37 games in the prem, cup and European with 9 goals and 8 assists?
F**K The worst signing since Thomas Brolin I fear we'll dance with relegation now...that £25 million could have been spent on the quality midfielders we need, not this lump of ManUre crap I think this is the day Bielsa lost the trust of many supporters and he'll have to prove himself all over again. This signing is THAT f*****g bad.
FFS, even I'm not that bad! Please tell me why you think that Bielsa has to prove himself all over again.
Because we desperately need reinforcements in midfield. We have KP and what, Dallas and Klich ? And there's no cover at LB, so when Firpo is out, Bielsa robs the midfield of Dallas to play him there. Shakleton seems to be played as the replacement RB too. Now you could include Rodrigo as a midfield player but I wouldn't and significantly he's not listed as one on the official LUFC website So a midfield of KP and Klich (plus Forshaw on the occasions he's fit) ???? And to think we baulked at paying £8 million for O'Brien and paid £25 million for James !!!! It beggars belief Muddled thinking doesn't even come close to describing our transfer strategy. 1/10 for this transfer window.
Costa on his way to Valencia, now that’s good business, as for James, who knows, Amigo might work his magic on him, personally I don’t think so, one thing I am pretty sure of the pack will have to be shuffled for James to fit in, does Amigo have a plan?
Just out of interest how many times have you watched Dan James play ? Full 90 mins not just highlights. At a conservative estimate I'd say I've seen at least 20 of his games and he's always looked the fastest player on the pitch. He's scored goals and also missed a hatful of chances when clean through due to poor finishing technique and/or lack of composure. In terms of workrate he's right up there with the best and closes down extremely quickly like a modern day Ian Rush. Fitness wise he's rarely injured and doesn't fade in matches due to fatigue. I'd say Bielsa needs to do some slight polishing rather than work some kind of magic trick.
Poly says no Lb cover….. wrong just bought Hjelde who is also a top LB for a young kid as well as a CB. Orta stated tonight that no midfielder brought in because Forshaw is getting back to his best, and Bielsa rates him as a top midfielder. We also have Lewis Bate who is shining already we have cover all over the defence with Shackelton or Drameh covering Ayling, 4 CBs with Coops maybe the weakest technically.
I I have never seen james play but you say he misses and is not a great finisher. Now i am worried because bielsa tries to polish roberts and fails.
