Fair enough, it was quite amusing we thought we were getting a ****e ref before the game based on fans opinions (apart from me - I don't judge a ref until I have seen him)

 

Tbf, Almunia stopped playing once the whistle had gone. I'm not convinced the ball would have gone in had Almunia still been playing. That said, the ref should have waited a few seconds to see if there was an advantage before pulling it up for the foul.

 

I thought he was rather fussy. Six yellow cards in a pretty clean game.

 

There were two glaring errors the officials made

The first was in the second half when a west ham player was miles offside and Fonte ran into him trying to get to the ball. West Ham almost scored and won a corner as a result. Linesman was wrong for not flagging and Referee should have blown himself anyway the player was so far off and clearly interfering with play.

Then there is the 2nd goal. Shocking lack of advantage played.

 

He was bloody awful!

 

Adkins said on Player that the ref had a good game. As Nigel walks on water, I'll accept his view.

 

I have to admit from the people I have talked to......to a man and women they thought the ref had a good game!!

 

I only notice mistakes and as I did not spot any obvious ones he must have had a good game. The Fonte incident mentioned was perhaps the main error.

 

I think he was still playing two of the pics from the gallery showed De Ridder sticking it through his legs. Shame it wasn't allowed though. Overall Ref was ok, but what changed from being good was when the guy who was offside obstructed Fonte and they got put through, that could have cost us and Hooiveld got booked from it. But I'm complaining we got the points so don't really care about the ref.

 

Someone should teach him how the advantage rule is used! 3/10 from me!

That was a blatant foul on Jose, and why the hell didn't he play the advantage for our goal?

Also, where the hell did they get 5 minutes extra time from?? There was barely an injury the whole game!

 

It wasn't just the advantage thing either. He's constantly breaking up play for silly little things and always feels the need to reprimand players to look like a big man. Adkins only said he had a good game because we won and he didn't want to get himself in unnecessary trouble. If West Ham had equalised in stoppage time, it would have been a very different interview.
