Just been going through it with own boy the last few years and you get to see so much talent fall by the wayside or not even acknowledged by coaches who don't know their arses from their elbows. It's not so much about making it to the upper echelons of the professional game but getting the best out of each individual player and enabling them to enjoy their football to the maximum. So many quit the game before they've barely started because they get messed around by idiots. There are changes for the better happening in grassroots football but unfortunately they're few and far between. So to any youngsters, parents etc out there don't just accept the meagre offerings that your likely to find at your local club. Do some research and find out which clubs have the best coaches, ones who are properly UEFA A or B qualified and get involved with them, you'll enjoy it so much more than the hoofball most kids teams end up playing.
Very good point, Rich. Haven't see the interview yet, but you can understand why he might be down. He's effectively been labelled a failure by scum & is still trying to process it. If he's on social media, he'll see he's getting ripped apart from people less reasonable than me - & you know what I think! The club needs to get a sports psychologist on him right away, because until he does something to suggest otherwise, lots of people, especially over the Pennines, will always consider him a flop.
Rodrigo de Paul and Matheus Cunha to Atletico Madrid for about £33m and £28m. God how I wish that we could have got them
Agree it was a good post by Ristac. We've got a good bunch of lads at Leeds though, mostly young and on an upward trajectory. Once he's processed what's happened and settled into his new environment I'd like to think he'll enjoy what Bielsa offers to his players and thrive on the challenge of proving any doubters wrong.
Watched him on video thank Man Utd and their fans for his time but said it was time to go and he was now in the place where he wanted to be. He said he now had a world class coach who was respected all around the world wanting him to come to Leeds. He added you cannot turn down working with the best of you want to carry on learning. Sounded to me more like taking a swipe at a not world class manager who would teach him nothing and never appreciated him?
The fee and the last few years history, the failed transfer, no blamed attached to him by most thankfully, will put more pressure on him, it's up to the fans now to give him time, all across the boards the yes's slightly outnumber the no's. Time some started putting all their energy's in loving this club rather than hating others. He's here, he's now one of ours and fully deserves our support to get him through. If he's still **** by Christmas, he can **** right off.
Be interessting to see what Bielsa can do with him. But think we have to wait a fem mounths before we can see any results of the work
Well it’s finally done and the fact that Bielsa pursued him for so long suggests he sees something in him that many of us don’t. I won’t argue with him because he saw something in Stuart Dallas that no one else ever did and bigged Dallas up from the moment he took charge
On the West Coast, twinned with Chernobel, my mates nephew is a copper there, said they're the strangest kind of inbred he's ever come across. Went there once just for the he'll of it, reached the first pub, went yo do a U turn and 3 locals were round the car looking in, pints in hand ready for a fight, absolute dump of a place. Apparently the road into it is the longest cul de sac in the UK
I understand they tried to burn it down once, that’s where the in furnace comes from, could be true dat
'James signing should add something new' please log in to view this image Leeds United Dan Moylan, host of The Square Ball podcast: "After going a bit crackers following promotion last summer, it’s been more considered at Elland Road this time around. Most of the early action centred around waving tearful goodbyes to our title-winning heroes from the Championship: Pablo Hernandez went back to Spain, Gaetano Berardi went back to Italy, and Gjanni Alioski went back to his home planet. A specialist left back was top of the list when Alioski departed and the recruitment of Junior Firpo and his cool moustache from bankrupt Barcelona looks like a canny move at around £12m. "Aside from that, the messages coming from the club have been consistent: a central midfielder was also on the list and a winger was possible at the end of the window. With Conor Gallagher opting for Palace on loan and Leeds unable to agree a fee for Huddersfield’s Lewis O’Brien, the central midfield looks a little sparse. Marcelo Bielsa loves a very small squad, but anxieties remain about the lack of an extra body in the middle of the park. The addition of Dan James has gone some way to reduce nerves that had grown through a perceived lack of activity in this window and a tough start to the season. He should add something new to a team that sometimes struggles to break down opposition that defends deep."
