The problem is that agents get paid either way, and since they get a cut of the signing fee so they're happy to suggest their clients run their contracts down It's similar to the Moriba situation, where he's being advised to effectively sit on his backside for a season so he gets a nice sum of money from Monster Energy Dusseldorf next summer because there's no reason for his agents to say Moriba's father is potentially ****ing up his career

I’m glad they’ve changed the club policy and signed a player they want even though they couldn’t get rid of the dross in his position. Not ideal to have 4 right backs at the same time but at least this shows Aurier and hopefully Doherty that they’re not needed at the club.
So since then: Emerson does seem done. Aurier and Ndombele are expected to stay. We’re not likely gonna move for an attacking player, so Traore is off but Kane will have no deputy for the second time in three seasons as we have no striker lined up. Once again I have know idea if Emerson is a significant upgrade on what we already have, but have to hope that he is Still think there will be a couple of surprises later, but perhaps maybe more in hope than expectation Edit - having just seen Tim Vickery on Sky, who is normally pretty good with his appraisal of South American players, I am suddenly less convinced that Emerson is an upgrade (though I do recall Tim saying that Coutinho was a bit lightweight for the premier league)
