Emerson looks a very strong attacking right back and its certainly an area we needed to improve on. Surely it means Aurier is on his way out. Traore ( or similar) in tomorrow would be a very good transfer window imo considering we also removed a lot of the deadwood. Cherry on the cake would be an attacking mid but highly unlikely unless we find a club for N'Dombele.
Palace supposedly looking to sign Odsonne Edouard from Celtic. Kind of wonder if we should take a look at making a bid. Pros: Young, scored a ton of goals so far and has a year left on his deal (I think) so wouldn’t be too costly. Cons: His ton of goals have come in the SPL.
Reports coming in now that Ndombele won’t be leaving, and it’s looking like Aouar will remain at Lyon “as things stand”. Other than Emerson who looks like it is close to happening, and Aurier hopefully heading out, I think that could be us done in this window. In the last few days it’s felt like shifting the remaining players we want rid of has become more of a challenge that perhaps we anticipated.
I need Aurier and one other to leave to meet my “3 out” prediction. Then I need two deadline day signings (assuming Emerson joins) to complete my “3 in”. I’m still clinging on to a bit of faith. C’mon, Fabio!
It's been a problem for a long time but has gotten much worse in recent years. Lewandowski getting a bouquet of flowers and a lap of honour before moving to Bayern for free took things to a new depth of madness. To my mind it is no coincidence that Die Mannschaft have been in steep decline for a while now. The national league is a procession, not a competition.
I think the out’s you need may happen, even if it’s loans. Some late scrambling could result in someone we perhaps don’t expect to go. I think we’ll run out of time with the incomings. We clearly need to shift before we can buy, and I think it’ll be time that ultimately costs us.
I reckon Aurier, CCV and possibly Doherty could go. Hopefully a surprise late bid for Ndombele but it’s looking doubtful now. I think Emerson, Traore and possibly Aouar or <an other> to arrive. But yeah, the ins are looking more doubtful.
Apparently they offered €10m plus Bellerin. Which is essentially the same as offering €0 seeing as Bellerin's value is -€10m. Emerson must've felt so disrespected they made such a bid like that.
Things have got to take a turn for the worse soon, but it seems to me the Holy Ghost and Paratici have played a blinder for two months. Spurs needed a CAM, 1-2 CMs, and a RB/RW. In an ideal world, they'd be good enough now, and better in a couple of years. Bryan is an ideal CAM, Romero is an ideal CM, and Emerson is an ideal RB/RW. Spurs don't need another CM because the Holy Ghost has transformed Sanchez, and, arguably, Dier as well. You can make a case Spurs should get a backup striker, but a better one IMO that the market for strikers this year is crap and/or no point shelling out for a striker until you can hand him a starting role and/or may as well give Scarlett a chance this year. A couple more outgoings would be a plus as well. But I'm fine with keeping Ndombele around. The only way to sell him would be for at a huge loss, and the Holy Ghost may yet be able to work him into the team. Another big plus is no money was wasted on players who aren't a sizable upgrade, IMO (other than Gollini, who is a special circumstance). Spurs dodged, to name just one, McKennie, whose close control I would call wonky.
Holy Ghost that completes 3 at the back The Father (Levy) Son and the Holy Ghost I don't Adam & Eve it . No wonder we're top. I would love to see Ndombele spirited away. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti
