Watford have signed a 17 year old, left-footed Colombian midfielder (presumably on a pre-contract), but he will stay at Envigado until at least the end of the year. It sounds a similar arrangement to that with João Pedro: Yaser Asprilla has only just started paying for the first team. Envigado were losing 0-2 against one of the top Colombian clubs (Atlético Nacional), but he provided an assist and scored the equalizer when he came on as a substitute in the second half. He has played regularly since that match and he scored a second goal in one of his next five league games. He is not very tall, but his strengths include vision, pace and dribbling plus he has an 80% passing accuracy. The Pozzos must think that he is a good prospect because they have paid approximately 3 million Euros to sign him. "Yaser is considered to be one of the most talented players to appear in the Colombian League in recent years" (footballtalentscout). The Pozzos paid much smaller amounts for players such as Adalberto Penaranda and Cucho Hernandez when they were signed. I have no idea whether he is related to Faustino Asprilla.
Sounds good but guess we won’t see him for a while. I think read Chalobah was back fit and ready to play.
There was a tweet today from a Watford fan who said Hughes must be wondering FTF happened there, all I wanted was to be a top earner and guaranteed first team football and now I am at the arsehole of Prem Football called Crystal Palarse, thanks a bunch Vanatzer Another tweeted swapping Sissoko for Hughes and £7m profit, one of the best bits of business in a while, well done Watford I dont think Hughes will be missed too much I still haven't forgiven him missing the simple tap in set up by Gray that could have turned our season around at that early stage
Looks like Brum have competition for Deeney's signature - Celtic. If he goes there, being a fly on the dressing room wall could be interesting - Postecoglou is noted for being a 'strong willed' manager, not someone to argue with.
I get the impression from responses to his other tweets that many think he doesn't know as much as he thinks he does.
Yaser Asprilla scored again on Saturday evening and Enviado have risen to second place in the Colombian Primera A league table. Asprilla made his debut in December 2020, but had played only three or four games for a few minutes as a substitute. He changed the game against Atlético Nacional on 18 July when he came on as a substitute in the second half: he provided an assist and scored the equalizer. Asprilla has started all the following six league games for Enviado and he has scored a total of 3 goals in the last seven league matches, although he is a midfielder/winger. Apparently he will be joining Udinese on loan in January 2022, although he has signed for Watford. The reason could be to allow him to obtain a work permit to play in the Premier League because he probably does not yet meet the qualifying conditions. Adam Leventhal wrote on the Tottenham match thread in the Athletic that he will be making a brief comment about this signing on Monday and he has promised to research more information about Yaser Asprilla. There appear to be many similarities with the signing of João Pedro and 17 year old Yaser Asprilla is another player who seems to have great potential. Enviado have a history of introducing young players into their first team and have produced a number of stars such as James Rodiguez. It has been confirmed that Yaser Asprilla is not related to Faustino Asprilla.
He could be back. Watford striker Andre Gray is poised to join Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan, the Watford Observer understands.
Mattie Pollock has signed on a season-long loan for Cheltenham Town FC. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...er-mattie-pollock-joins-cheltenham-town-loan/
Talksport linked us with Phil Jones - probably a load of rubbish. Wouldn’t be fit for more than a day given his and our track record on injuries!
