Wolves were unlucky not to beat Scum yesterday. They were all over em, but they just couldn't finish BUT their overall performance was so much better than Leeds!
I don't know Elland, I always felt the opening games were going to be tough, maybe I should judge after the magic 10th game. See where we are then. But like I've said before we aren't passing teams off the pitch, our fitness levels don't seem to be wearing down teams(not counting Crewe). I hope I'm wrong, but we'll see how we are doing over the next 7 or more games.
I'm being realistic and yes I know it's only three games in, but three can lead to 6 to 10 and if we need points early on, just incase we get drawn into a relegation battle at the tail end of the season. Listen we could go on a run of wins and I'll be as happy as the rest of you. But I've a feeling Bielsa could leave next season and then what.
Arsenal fans are screaming at the ref association because they had a player sent off for an ankle tap and Burnley had nobody sent off for assault and/or GBH on Bamford, Barnes wild swing on Dallas was more like WWF. 3 players should have been sent off. Tarkovsky, Barnes deffo
A big IF their Norman, with our performances so far, But i hope your right, i have a feeling it will come together again soon, with Bielsa on the case. Hi everyone
Not sure about anyone else but my points target for the first 3 games was 4 points. Anything more than that would have been dreamland and obviously that didn't happen. The other target was not to lose matches as defeats give points to your rivals as well as deflating confidence and putting the club under pressure. With those points in mind I think we've done reasonably well without really playing as well as we can do. Plus 2 of our games were away and with fans back home advantage is to the fore once more. Last season the fixture list was also kinder, second game was a very winnable home match against against fellow newly promoted rivals. That got us off and running, whereas this season it's that little bit tougher for the first 4 fixtures before it levels out somewhat. Obvioulsy we need that first win asap but as it's unlikely to come against Liverpool then patience is going to be required.
Yep. Exactly. I thought 6 point would have been an excellent start. 4 points would be decent. 3 points about par. Anything less a bit poor. We have 2 points. It's not the end of the world but as Shako says we do need that first win to get us going. The longer it goes, the more the pressure builds. I think the win vs Crewe was great just to get a win. We need one in the league now and I think Liverpool are somewhere near their best form right now so I'm looking at Newcastle for a win.
Actually I think he's worth £20m. We were happy to pay £10m two and a half years ago and now he has plenty of PL experience but is still very young. Would you be happier if we raised the fee by selling Costa plus one other (Roberts maybe) ?
Only time will tell mate but £10 is more realistic, perhaps with add ons. My understanding is, this isn't able to happen unless we sell Costa, who could be on his way to Villareal but for £6m, taking a big loss on him.. In a strange way the only way I see it working is if he gets the RW spot and Raphinha tears it up as a 10.
If this happens will not be 20 milllion. But costa must go and where does that leave summerville?. What is the point of u23s at all.
Afternoon all, If Dan James is coming then I would love to see Raphinia play behind Bamford. He works harder than Rodrigo and his tricks and turns would terrify defences while saving him having to cut inside to take his shots. Yesterday was frustrating as we were definitely not at our best. Klich missing didn't help but I think Firpo was the bigger loss as we could have done with Dallas energy and industry in the middle. Another day Burnley would have been down to nine men. There have already been sister sending offs this season. Despite being off the boil yesterday there were glimpses of what we normally do, some fine link up passing cutting thru them but certainly not enough. It's hard to keep it up when it normally ends up with one of our players being kicked or out and out assaulted. Burnley are a horrible team who seemed determined to dish it out but are unable to take it, proper bullies behaviour. This must come from Dyche as his whinging on the touchline was embarrassing.
Could he do the job, right age, no idea what they'd want. Both Palace and Everton want him on loan apparently
As I said earlier regarding Ashley Barnes, this from Keith Hackett and remember after we were there last season with Dyche reporting Alioski for laughing at one of their butchers “Ashley Barnes is coming in at knee height, but it was wreckless and for me, that’s a red card offence – he should have gone. “He came in high, it didn’t look good. There wasn’t a massive discussion about it on Match of the Day, I was amazed.” Shock. We still can’t believe that Barnes wasn’t shown his marching orders. It was a shocking challenge, and the Leeds players were rightly fuming, which makes the lack of a close review with VAR laughable.
