Great start for SAFC Ladies today - winning 1 - 0 away at Coventry.
If they continue as the lads we could have two table toppers. :1980_boogie_down:

Any win against Coventry is a good thing, whether it's lads or lasses.

Good result. I see they’ve got a different shirt sponsor, looks better as well IMO

Would be better if they didn’t have a shirt sponsor.

Would be even better if they didn’t wear shirts at all.

Why do you want to watch young lads showering?

Canny game today. Totally bossed the first half and went 2 nil up then solid defending in the second half to keep it 2-0 and get the win. 749 in attendance and the lasses go top of the league.

Just got back from the game. We could and probably should have been 4 or 5 up at Half Time. Jess Brown had their LB on toast and she was taken off. Our back four handled Blackburn well and made them look toothless.

We sat off them a bit too much second half and survived a couple of scares, but generally we saw the game out well and were worthy winners. Woman of the match: Louise Griffiths - She broke everything up and started a lot of our good moves down our left flank. Notable mentions for Maria Farrugia and Neve Herron.

We clearly missed captain Keira Ramshaw in midfield, but that's 6 points from 2 games. Onwards & Upwards. Haway The Lasses!

Their left back was on toast. She got booked and was either going to be sent of or subbed off, and it only took about 25 mins for her to get the hook. Neve Herron was excellent and Farrugia ran and ran all game. We dug in second half, glad they kept the clean sheet.

It was quite amusing to see a few people trying to bring cans of Carling up to their seats and the stewards turning them back. Must have been first timers into the SoL.

Hopefully they play a few more games there. They will have made a few quid from that, loads of bairns buying food, pop and sweets. If they opened the club shop, even just for an hour or so they would have definitely made money as well.

Aye mate. It definitely would have been beneficial to open the club shop.

Was a bit surprised there was less than 800 there, but as you say, there were a few first-timers. Hopefully we can get the crowds up above 1,000 again. Atmosphere is normally better at Eppleton mind.

Saw one lass with a Sunderland Top with Grigg on the back. If I'd had some tomatoes, I would've pelted her with them! <laugh>
