Without knowing the nature of the injury Slater is carrying its difficult to know either way. That's why they have medicals to pick up anything long term. If it's a minor knock then it'll make no difference to Sheff utds decision at all. If its someting more serious then it may well have an impact - but I suspect the decision was made before he got injured.

    A few comments and obs
Nobody can judge Jarvis on ten minutes either way , great experience and encouragement for him good move Mcann! He looked solid build and mobile that’s all I saw
I raised the Coyle crossing issue earlier this week , yes he put in a decent cross in when there were only a couple of defenders in because it was a swift counter , that’s when it’s effective a midfielder got on the end of it !
If we don’t have the big cf then he needs to put in a curling ball 3’ off the floor the defenders won’t like that - at pace!
KLP , think he’s wasted out on the wing and defends too narrow he still needs positional advice. Before he starts getting real stick he needs to collect and play the simple ball first and o let try the clever stuff when he has the time and space . Yesterday he was half asleep like Coyle first half , better second and needs to move quicker at times .
Not sure McCann picks up his position on the East side probably thinks he’s still tight to the line. ? Thought Bernard was class loves half back who tackles at the halfway line !

Well for one it wasn’t Jarvis
And two I didn’t judge him
I hope he’s a world beater but no one can say what he is on 11 minutes of football where he touched the ball twice

Just on Bullard, I remember the day he was announced as a £5m signing. I immediately raised an eyebrow.

£5m? He's worth miles more than that. Bullard was such a brilliant footballer. How have we got him for that?

He'd even been called to the England squad at that time.

As much as I hate to say it, Bullard was way too good for us.

    Something had to be wrong.

Much like when Allam took over and said "Football should be like the air, it should be free, it should be £10 and £5".

Sorry but I find bullshit really easy to detect.

Charlie Austin, I've no idea what went wrong there, but it obviously did.

We probably knew he had dodgy knees and that was reflected in the fee paid, but then probably looked at players like ledley King who never trained but played his fair share and thought we could manage it.

There was a reason Fulham wouldn't offer him a long term deal though - he'd have stayed there otherwise.

Obvs it was no secret that he'd been out long term with a dislocated knee - West Ham were always going stick one on it....

The 'Football should be like the air, it should be £10 and £15' remark was made when the club were trying to buy the stadium and also announced plans that they would like to increase the capacity to 35,000. I thought the original comment was 'football should be free, like the air' ? Before all those ITK, who actually don't, come on and say 'he wanted it for nothing'. A deal was there to be had. But the opportunity was lost and it never happened so the remarks are irrelevant.
Charlie Austin failed the medical, simple as. The club were ultra cautious after having their pants down with the Bullard deal, which as Kempton says 'he's worth miles more then that'.
A Jimmy Bullard without the injury obviously was.
The Bullard signing probably cost us Charlie Austin because I know for a fact that even up to a minute to midnight on deadline day Austin was pleading with the club to give him a chance. His failed medical prevented that. Put it down as one that got away.

Hinds did his job yesterday. Gave Eaves a shove towards the exit door.

How much is an adult paying for a game now as a season pass holder?

I'm not judging him as a talent, I'm just saying that out of the two, Hinds looked more useful in the time he was on the pitch. They'll both have decent careers.

    Well I enjoyed yesterday’s game.
August is always an odd month, with unsettled teams and supporters chomping in the bit to see results.
I was impressed by Coyle. The player I wanted to see again was Williams and he did not disappoint. Ingram was unsettled and whilst I also like Emmanuel, Bernard is certainly a talent.
I do believe we have a squad that can compete in the league.

Agree with this...I think we've got some skilful players at the Club this season. It hasn't come together just yet but I think we'll gel into a half decent outfit.

No one was saying you should
You said Allam was lying and a bullshitter about a tenner a game
Well now it’s around that mark

McCann's comments suggest he will be back in Jan.

I did say Allam was lying, that's because he was.

Can't you see, he's only done these things because the money's gone and now he needs the customer back?

It's very sad, very sad indeed, but they made their bed, now they will have to lie in it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they had a housekeeper to do that sort of thing to be honest.
