RANGERS have sensationally withdrawn all co-operation with the BBC blaming "repeated difficulties" with the broadcaster this season.

The Scottish champions have been angered by the recent making of a documentary on the club which they have slammed as "a prejudiced muckraking exercise".
BBC staff were banned from Ibrox earlier this season following the broadcast of a clip which appeared to show manager Ally McCoist smirking when asked about the behaviour of supporters at Old Firm matches.

McCoist was said to be "appalled" by the editing of the clip from a pre-match conference in July but relations appeared to have been mended when the BBC issued an apology.
However, bosses at Ibrox today said they were cutting all ties with the broadcaster following the making of the yet-to-be-aired documentary.

A statement released by Rangers this afternoon read: "Rangers Football Club is withdrawing all co-operation with the BBC as of today.

"The decision has been taken due to the repeated difficulties the club has encountered with the BBC this season.

"The club was forced earlier in the season to suspend co-operation with the BBC over its serious misrepresentation of the club manager's position on violence and sectarianism.
"There have also been other instances where the BBC's reporting on the club's affairs has been neither accurate or fair.

"Furthermore, over the last few weeks the BBC has been involved in making a documentary about the club which appears to be little more than a prejudiced muckraking exercise.

"Efforts to ensure that reporting of the club's affairs should be balanced and fair appear to have been in vain.

"The club believes that the BBC has on a number of occasions now demonstrated a pre-determined negative attitude towards Rangers and its fans and its journalism has fallen well short of acceptable standards.

"The decision to end co-operation with the BBC has been taken very reluctantly but the club feels it has been left with no other option."

The move comes just hours after former Rangers finance director Donald McIntyre was granted an order freezing £300,000 of the Ibrox club's assets ahead of a court action for compensation.

Mr McIntyre was suspended by Rangers after Craig Whyte took over the reigns from Sir David Murray earlier this year. He resigned from his position with the club last week.
Following a brief hearing at the Court of Session today, Lord Hodge granted the move brought by Mr McIntyre's lawyers.

It follows a similar order granted last month to Rangers former chief executive Martin Bain for £480,000 of the club's assets to be ring-fenced ahead of a damages claim.
Rangers were not represented in court today and, afterwards, Mr McIntyre said: "I think Lord Hodge's decision speaks volumes as does the fact that Rangers did not turn up to defend the case. I am sad at the current circumstances at the club and I am concerned for the club."

    Now! Now!
Rangers have short memories. When I was a young boy when we beat them 7-1 (yes seven-one). BBC refused to show the second half in order to appease the poor bears.
The camera man later lied by saying he had put his cap on it.
Rangers board wise up don't no matter how bad things are, don't turn your back on your friends, the hands that feed you.

Is it normal for Panorama to be shown at 7pm on Thursday in Scotland.
I wonder if by some strange fluke Rangers had qualified for Europa League would the programme have still be shown during their UEFA Cup match.

Can we be sure the camera ma doesn't put his cap on it again.
Maybe Rangers will come off their high horse.

It was on snoozenight Scotchland last night.

I'll be honest, Celtic should have stood up for the support in the face of the lies told about us by the BBC......but they didn't.

I don't really understand the Huns position though. It is ludicrous that their situation has been ignored. They have certainly had an easy ride. That may be the reason for their reticence to concede that there may be a problem.

Rangers were handed information that was going to be covered in the programme for them to comment. Personally, I'd have thought that would have been the ideal time to scotch all this "prejudiced reporting" and put Rangers' side, but they just throw a wobbly and go off in the huff.

I think that we can safely say that this programme is on the money - if you'll pardon the pun.

Given that you can boldly state this without having seen any of the programme, it's fair to say that you're prejudiced. Have you considered a career at the BBC?

Indeed. the show further reveals Whytes long term plan to redevelop ibrox into THE premier Morris Dancing venue in the U.K , at an estimated cost of some £700 million. Whyte understands the sport of Morris Dancing has yet to catch on north of the border , but his obsession is such that he is operating with a " build it and they will come " philosophy.

I haven't seen the programme but rangers' reaction is similar that when Phil macghollywobble broke the financial meltdown story. They went in a huff and it proved to be true - despite all the 'prejudiced' protests.
