Ederson wonders beyond his CBs and randomly kicks it out of play. Then nearly gifts Arsenal immediately afterwards
Shocker from Xhaka, fully deserved red card. Not been able to dive in with two feet like that for about 20yrs now ffs
Doing more than the Arsenal players to bring Arsenal back into the game. Though that useless lump Xhaka is off now, so they should improve...
Nope. Lunged in, both feet off the ground and missed the ball, fortunately missed the player too. There was absolutely no need either, wasn't a dangerous position and he could have (and it would have been easier) won the ball with a regular single foot slide tackle. And then Arteta gave Xhaka a pat on the back as he walked off Edit; just seen a replay and he does get a touch on the ball but it's not a clean contact and doesn't change the challenge being a disgrace.
Man City 4-0 & Arsenal been a man down for 20mins already with over half hour still to play... This could get very messy!
City and guardiola are very very nasty. The types that burn ants with magnifying glasses or pull wings off butterflies. They will not stop grinding arsenal into the ground. Chelsea let this lot off the hook last week. 2-0 was a poor result.
When we were doing Arsenals best XI the other day I think we all agreed that Xhaka shouldn't be in it. What Arteta and Arsenal see in him is beyond my reasoning. I'd have sold years ago, the guy is a average player at his best and a complete liability at his worst. Whilst Arsenal probably wont get relegated, the longer Arteta keeps his job the further down the table they'll finish. Just because he spent a couple of seasons as Pep's AM doesn't mean he's any good.
I don't know why they do it - it's not as though the ref's going to change his mind because you shout at him. If I was a ref, rather than be intimidated it would just encourage me to look for the opportunity to piss him off further.
They do it cos next time the ref just might be influenced. That's why Ferguson hated martin Atkinson so much. Atkinson was as contrary and as big an asshole as Ferguson and would hold any comments against players and teams. Also their flops were rarely rewarded as Atkinson himself said he didnt owe anybody anything and a penalty had to be a penalty.
Its an attempt to influence the ref later in the game. You make it clear you think they've made a mistake in an attempt to get them to balance it out later, so a bad tackle escapes a card or a soft pen is given etc. You're playing to someones sense of 'fairness' and getting them to question themselves.
