Only Sheff Wed bother me tbh, could walk away with it. Portsmouth will fade though imo, they've had chances but lost their momentum. By coincidence I've just had a text asking if I'm going to Gillingham, one of the lads lives in Hastings.
We've had quite a few problems the last week. Our striker got injured in the cup game Tuesday, and the gaffer aint coping on our shoestring budget, so has more or less publically threatened to walk, unless the Chairman sorts it. If he does that, we're knackered. Thankfully Evans seemed calmer tonight, so hopefully the striker will be ok for tomorrow and the gaffer will get back in his box, not that I blame him for being upset.
Standard League One, you should be use to that by now. Although should be your season to get out of here now.
At times there can be some decent stuff, our home games against Coventry and Barnsley from both teams as examples. AFC Wimbledon play decent footy and a few others. I think some teams (Wycombe included) feel they have to live up to that 'typical league one' style when they could actually be a lot better.
Fair point, AFC are one of the games I always look forward to each season. Got some great memories from games with them.
Oh yeah. But that doesn’t happen. People don’t do that according to a number of fans on here! In this division, we’re still the scalp everyone wants. Maybe a little less so with Sheffield Weds down here but we’ll be that team still.
Sheffield Wednesday would be more the focus as the scalp this season, you guys have been down here too long now. With my team at current, I'd just be happy with a draw against Sunderland, and avoiding a heavy defeat. My top two fixtures this season at home would be Charlton and Wimbledon, being our more local clubs. Charlton would probably sell out our away end. Also a lot of games are down to being dependent on the transfer window, at the moment my club is struggling, who knows come mid-October when we play you, we may be a better side. That's not really down to us upping our game against you, but how our shoe string budget has gone by then. ie can we get another striker in that the gaffer wants, instead of just relying on Oliver.
Oh I agree. Sheff Weds will be the scalp but I reckon SAFC won’t be far behind from a player’s perspective. Especially at Sunderland. aone issue teams have had against us was their “next game”. Very few have beaten us then won their next. Mainly as they threw everything at SAFC. Hope you’re right about Sheff Weds! Should make this season a bit easier for us!!
I'm sure it'll be the same for us tbh ... ... Sheff Wed will be games we and the team will really be up for.
You could be right from a player perspective, didn't realise you was coming from that angle. I can remember last season, we was having to explain to the gaffer, you do NOT lose to Swindon. He didn't know, nor did the players, we won both games. One of the strangest rivalries in football.
We should've played them next weekend but it's postponed with the call ups ... ... it'll make a good night match though, Hillsborough under floodlights with 3/4000 down there. I expect there'll be some trouble, always has been in the past.
Only match I’ve been to where a lad threatened me with an axe hid under his coat. Very nice chap, couldn’t run very fast though.
