The west should have gone in and got rid of ISIS and the Taliban and got out in a couple of years.
If either looked like getting established they should have relied on drone strikes.

The excuse for going in was that Bin Laden was hiding in a cave there.

Despite the Taliban saying he wasn't and Bin Laden originally saying he had nothing to do with 911 we invaded.

CNN managed to drive in and interview him a few months later but the most expensive super power in human history couldn't find him .

Years later he was spotted in Pakistan and a Navy SEAL team flew in to take him out as Obama Hilary and the top brass watched on live camera .

After a job well done they rolled Bin Laden into the sea from an aircraft carrier in a traditional Muslim burial at sea out of respect.

Not long after most of the SEAL team crashed in a freak helicopter accident and died.

Job well done all round

 

Bin Laden only hid in caves when NATO invaded and was looking for him. The Taliban were protecting him previously.
CNN interviewed Bin Laden in 1997. That was before 9/11.
