I was surprised that except for Waghorn we had the same starting XI at Brighton as against Cardiff. What does this mean for McKenna and Cairney? I'm finding it hard to see them getting regular starts. Will MacLean be back on the bench with a fit Waghorn or will he start and Waggy get 30 minutes? Its all too much!
I think Waggy will start - as the only change - but he might get subbed by McLean, if he doesn't hold up.
I get the impression that Waggy won't quite be fit to start against Watford, but nothing would surprise me to be honest. What you're describing there is just a modern football squad. No one just has 2 midfielders any more, you have to have different options because there are so many injuries now. A few weeks ago no one could see Evans getting a game or Koren playing CM but now most wouldn't want it to be any other partnership.
Think we'll see Waggy on the bench but it would be an insult to Mclean if he was dropped after a good game vs Brighton..
Very good points, modern football is something I never expected at City. McLean reminds me in some ways of Marney, you have to like him, but wish he was on target that bit more.
Well now - if that old curmudgeon OLM had let us have a poll on it, we'd know what the majority thinks....Wouldn't we?
If Waghorns fit he starts, i think Pusic had a quiet game what if we put mclean on the right has a winger
Waggy for Mclean the only change I think, the team seem to be playing the best football for a while so it seems daft to tinker with it too much. Won't make the game this weekend but can't wait for the Hammers game in a couple of weeks!
I reckon that it will be safety first with the same starting line up with Waghorn to come on as a sub. I get the impression that they want to ease him back slowly.
