Mendy is on his way to strangeways lol only football he will be playing will be an 11 aside with the prison screws lol
Bielsa has turned down Harry Winks according to Phil Hay. Spurs offered him to Leeds on a loan deal and at only 25 with 10 England caps you would think he would be well suitable to fill the midfield berth? I would put him above Gallagher but then Im not Bielsa plus do we have someone else lined up?
If I had to choose between Aidy White and Dan James I would go for the English lad. Not much between the ears or between them and I woke up having a nightmare the other night when I had White and James running around in the same cul-de-sac and they didnt know how to get out
Dallas was written off before Bielsa arrived as to were a few others. Bielsa really wanted James, I'm sure Bielsa can turn him into something special.
I think it would be something, where we'd have to wait and see but I'd prefer Bielsa to put that effort into Somerville rather than James.
Winks is an interesting one, plays more of a Phillips role because of his lack of pace, maybe Bielsa feels he's got that area covered ... interesting that Spurs want him out seeing as he's been touted as a good International player ... pretty good player to pass on though, Bielsa is a tough manager to please
Dan James just hangs around, link just won't go away ... the lad damaged his career when he went to Scum, no doubt that he hasn't progressed as he'd have hoped ... as a raw talent at Swansea he looked like a worthwhile investment, and because of his age I still feel Bielsa can improve him loads ... his searing pace is a great asset to have, all he needs is a cracking learning environment and a manager who understands him ... if James truly wants to kick on, Leeds is the only place for him right now to grow as a player and a person
If he has the intelligence to listen & learn, & not think he knows better than Bielsa, then he might have a chance. Poveda is an example of someone that has clearly been failed by Bielsa, & the main suspect is ego imo.
I think you might have answered the question yourself, in the phrase 'lack of pace'. Btw, was it a straight loan offered, or loan to buy option? If it's the former, then that's the real reason we're not interested - we made a loaner into a £50m player with no recompense. That must have hurt.
With players teaming up with their international squads from tomorrow, can't see much or any action on that quality of player now, no time yo get medicals done.
Will we get a transfer deadline day surprise? As Gessa said the so called better quality players will all be away on international duty. I still feel we might sneek in with a winger still rumours going about that Costa could go. but surely if he does it has to be a 1 in 1 out situation. under 3 days to go to finally put all these stories to bed and concentrate on the football. Koch's also out the Germany Squad wonder how bad his injury really is for us to send him to Germany for extra treatment did he need to see a specialist or what?
If there is a transfer we can now say it will not be Cornet as he has just signed for Burnley. Noa Lang and Nahitan Nandez are still hanging around and their clubs will want things resolved because both have already signed replacements it seems we have walked away from O’Brian and Joe Willock to name just 2 players because Bielsa has a price in his head and refuses to pay inflated prices? willock was priced at £25m by Arsenal Bielsa had him at £18m because he had played first team Premier League football and was a regular England U21 player. Newcastle paid the full fee. O’Brian is valued by the dogz at between £8-10m Bielsa says £4m because he hasnt done anything except play Championship football a bit last season after been out on loan in L2 Bielsa seems to want to save the club money too unlike most managers who just want to spend
Leeds in ADVANCED TALKS with Scum for Dan James ... both clubs hopeful deal will be done in time ... I like this
Helder Costa’s Leeds United exit has hit a stumbling block after Valencia manager Jose Bordalas blocked his signing, according to Hector Gomez. The Spanish journalist, who writes for Valencia-based news outlet Tribuna Deportiva, suggests the 27-year-old winger is now unlikely to make a move to the La Liga club.
