    There are suggestions of wage issues in the Pape Sarr deal, too...

    It was ever thus. Hopefully, the deals don't fall apart, as we need bolstering in the midfield (even if Sarr's going out on loan)

    Aurier has posted a pro-Lens slogan on his social media, indicating that a move to Lille is unlikely.
    They're rivals and he played for the former, having come through their academy.

    Oh well, does any team need a new FB due to their first-choice being arrested?

    Guardiola speaking on Kane:

    Tottenham did not want to negotiate. They did not want to talk, so we did not talk. We tried to open the door but the big master of negotiations, Daniel Levy, who knows everything, wouldn’t.

    Watford Manager, Xisco on Sissoko:

    He is a very good player, everyone knows he is an experienced player. He is a top player and I think he would be very good for us. We will see if he arrives.

    United now the favourites then

    As for City and Pep, there have either been an awful lot of porkies told by almost everybody who reports on football, or the messiah himself his lying. Now whilst I know that almost all football reporting these days is dubious, on this occasion I think that it's unlikely that City made no bid whatsoever.

    The BBC have somehow managed to report Guardiola's comments whilst missing out the words "Daniel Levy" and "big master of negotiating."

    <laugh>

    They really are a bunch of ****s.

    Can I just say, who ever convinced Watford to pay £10 million for Sissoko needs a bonus.

    I’m putting it down to the collective effort of us Spurs fans on Not606 and our 5 years of moaning about his performances. It was definitely us.

    How shall we spend the money?

    Apparently he’s completed his medical. Fees gone from £10m to £7m to £5m though according to different sources, lol.

    Either way, it’s good we’re getting one of the must gos out, £90k a week off the wage bill as well.
