What about Oliver Ntcham? We have been linked in the past and I think Celtic are looking to loan out again.
Oh I think he’s great and has had a couple of strong seasons. I just think Davies has had the more valuable professional experience. He’s been consistent and made himself count with a succession of managers who all saw value in him. Who knows which player has the higher ceiling? I do think Davies would be more in our wheelhouse though.
I liked him a lot but I think there’s something wrong with him. He moved from being a great prospect and a massive talent to the fringes at Celtic almost overnight and nobody was willing to take the gamble on bringing him in permanently when he would have been very cheap. He’s in the final year of his deal at Celtic now.
He’s been released by Celtic I thought. Saw his name a while back on players available on a free transfer, no idea if he’s found another club though
He was at Marseille on loan last year, didn't play much. I heard he was a bit of a trouble maker? Oh for the days of Vic, Morgan and Cork at no.6!
I didn’t get the vibe that he was the type of 6 we need. He won’t fill the Romeu role if called upon I don’t think
He might well be. We need a replacement for Romeu sooner rather than later. His contract is up in two years and he would ideally become a rotation role at some point Although not at his current wages I expect
Our best bet seemingly would be another Tino type signing but I don’t know how many there are like it
I talked about Ronaldo Vieira from Sampdoria before, but seeing as he only managed four games for Hellas Verona last season, I’m guessing he’s become rubbish.
I remember watching a lot of video when we were linked ages ago as he’s a player I’ve always liked. Can work defensively or in attack and he’s a real flair player. I think clubs probably have concerns about his mentality. He didn’t really seem to defend at Celtic as he often didn’t really have to. Someone as good as he has been from an early age, with a set of such varied skills, should have gone higher than he has. Changes of management and systems saw him lose playing time too. Suggests that he’s not adaptable. Celtic are a weird club lately though. They thought Armstrong wasn’t good enough for the PL and he was only a squad player there. He’s certainly gained in value for us. I’d say Ntcham isn’t worth the risk for us. A touch of the Leminas I reckon.
My next door neighbour is a senior(ish) member of staff at Parkhead. I can confirm that this is very much the case.
I wonder if this is like Sanchez and Fred and City are playing a game with United here City apparently wanted both and United “beat” them to them and both were awful. Now Ronaldo won’t be awful and man United are a bit short of people to play through the middle as Cavani never seems to be there apart from to play us and Martial is rubbish centrally. But perhaps this reduces United’s chances of getting haaland next summer even more. They were already remote but I think they had a good chance especially if Kane had gone to city
