He was wondering why it was taking so long to get out! He’s been practicing so much with the new ball he almost forgot how to bat with an older ball! seems he’s managed quite well though!
If they get anywhere near a lead of 350 by close of play tonight, I wonder if they'll declare in the morning or just play T20 cricket for the first session then declare at lunch
Make them field more tomorrow if possible and then put them in afternoon/tea when they a bit more weary.
I’d say they would want 450 lead before declaring. Headingley traditionally plays better the longer it goes so get a big enough lead and only bat once. The lat wickets might put paid to that one though.
Been a great performance but Buttler again showing he's not up to Test Cricket - feels as though he's in the team because he's a good trainer and part of the leadership group Once Foakes is fit, I'd be going with him at 7 and let Pope, Bairstow, Lawrence and Livingstone fight it out for 6
Aye. Whilst we have enough runs, a quick half an hour, putting more overs in the legs of Shami, Ishant and co whilst frustrating Kohli can only be a good thing Having said that, I quite liked it when Michael Clarke declared just before the start of play one test and gave the England openers no time to prepare before going out to bat
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this regarding JB. We have plenty of talent whereby we do not need to keep players in fire no reason other than they can tonk it every now and again
He a top bloke and an absolute genius white ball player but he's just not up to it a Test level. There is no shame in that, not everyone can do it in all formats. It's time to accept that and move on.
