Our visitors were defeated in the league on Monday, so they'll be looking to bounce back. Hopefully we'll have a stronger team available and they'll be able to get things over the line. Joe Rodon and Cameron Carter-Vickers are missing again through injury, though Christian Romero is back. Diaby, Jordi, Maracas and Vigario are all still out for Pacos. Neither side has any suspensions. Lineups for each side's last league game: Spurs: Lloris; Tanganga, Sanchez, Dier, Reguilon; Hojbjerg, Skipp, Alli; Moura, Son, Bergwijn. Subs: Gollini, Doherty, Davies, Winks, Lo Celso, Sessegnon, Gil, Kane, Scarlett. Pacos: A.Ferreira; Fonseca, Ramos, Baixinho, Antunes; Uilton, Eustaquio, Carlos, Delgado; Santos, Pedro. Subs: Jeimes, J.Silva, Lima, Bastos, Pires, Djalo, L.Silva, H.Ferreira, Tanque. Ref: Ruddy Buquet (FRA). Was the official for our 7-2 win over Maccabi Haifa last season. TV: Premier Sports 2. How would you like to line up for this one? Would you stick with much of the same lineup from the Wolves game, tinker a little or change it completely? Which system and tactics would you use and what are you expecting Pacos to go with?
Go strong where the changes made won’t overly hurt us. Gollini Tanganga, Rodon, Romero, Sess Lucas, Skipp, Dele, Gil Kane, Scarlett Can’t afford the embarrassment of losing this. Have Son, Bergwijn, Hojbjerg etc on the bench too.
I imagine we’ll go stronger given it’s at home and the result of the first game, especially in midfield. Gollini Doherty Romero Dier Davies Højbjerg Winks Gio Lucas Kane Gill I think Pierre will add a lot in midfield that we were lacking and generally these players are much more familiar with each other than the mess that started last week. Gill, Gio and Romero should be ok in this side and all need game time for different reasons. For me the big issue was last week that the side looked completely unfamiliar with each other and the formation so hopefully reverting to type and playing some more players who know each other will help. I’d hope the bench will include players who can help us step it up a notch (Son, Dele, Reggie and Skipp) as well as the likes of Scarlett and Devine to bring on if we get into a good place score-wise.
A couple of tweaks to the team from last week. Important that those players who have not had many minutes against City and Wolves get a run out. But we need to be strong. Kane HAS to start and that will in itself make a huge difference. Hopefully the ref will penalise them for their fouling which I reckon will be their game plan. Gollini Doherty, Romero, Davies, Sess PEH, Winks Lucas, Lo Celso, Gill Kane
Alasdair Gold's predicted lineup Gollini; Doherty, Romero, Davies, Sessegnon; Skipp, Winks, Lo Celso; Lucas, Kane, Gil
"Cristian is okay," reported Head Coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, after training on Wednesday. "He had problems in the previous leg, so we decided not to take him to Wolves. He trained yesterday, trained today and he's an option for tomorrow." I didn't realise you could transplant legs
Lilywhite Rose saying Markanday’s in the squad, really happy about that if true. I’m a fan of his, hope he gets on the pitch at some point once we’ve hopefully got a nice lead.
I'd go with -. Gollini, Doherty, Romero, Dier, Davies, Gil, Winks, Skipp, Sessegnon, Kane, Scarlett Strong bench if it goes tits up. If were cruising it bring on Markanday and Nile John for experience.
