Let's be honest here, they have no interest in anything or anyone other then themselves and their own greed !

Presumably to sell for a profit later, he's not been much use so far.

Genuine answer? Maybe they thought he'd be the next 'gem' like Bowen or Maguire or Robertson and they could sell him for a huge profit later. Their main approach to transfer business seems to be entirely profit-motivated and not about strengthening the squad to be competitive. As we have seen, very little of the money from our big-money outgoings in recent years has been proportionally reinvested into the squad but the Allams certainly take their dividends at the end of the year. £22 million + whatever we got for Grosicki and we signed Scott for just over a mil and Maddison on loan.

The whole saga with Ehab crying poverty about having to sell his Bentley because he can't afford a driver whilst he's banned from driving (due to his own reckless and irresponsible record) is just one example of how out-of-touch people like him are. If you swapped Ehab in that situation with one of Kardashians, people would call it for what it is: spoilt and bratty. He really is no better than a spoilt Beverly Hills rich kid living off daddy's money.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed personal terms with Man City, but Juventus want a player in return.

Some defenders we could sign given they haven't played much:

    Joel Veltman - Brighton
    George Friend - Birmingham
    Phil Bardsley - Burnley
    Martin Kelly - Crystal Palace
Filip Benkovic - Leicester (not that experienced)
    James Chester - Stoke
    Winston Reid - West Ham

Not sure about injuries, but they're certainly more experienced than our current centre halves. Reid in particular helped Brentford get promoted so he would be a fine capture if we could get him.

The club are actively involved in the same model that Brentford use, they want to buy young players cheap and develop them into profitable ones, it's how they see the club being "self sustaining". If an eight figure fee comes in for KLP, he'll be gone. Not that there will be this transfer window, but if he picks up and goes well in January, you never know.

Brentford have done well buying players for a couple of million and selling for ten to twenty million, there's barely any of their big money sales that came in on a free.

And with the embargo hovvering over us what wriggle room have we to bring such a player .. not being facetious here, I just don't know if we are allowed under the current restrictions. Of course all this would be nullified should the Allams choose to pay back the money to the EFL, but as we all know that aint gonna happen in a hurry !

They started with pretty modest levels though. Hogan came in for £750k, Andre Gray was £500k, Tarkowski was nominal fee, Forshaw was a free, Mepham was a free, Grigg was peanuts, Dallas was a free.

There's certainly similarities between our business over the last 2 summers and Brentford pre 2015.

Brentford also reinvest an adequate chunk of the money into players that still make them competitive. When it was clear Watkins was gonna make a big-money move to a Prem team, they pre-emptively signed Toney and let Watkins go.

It would only be a loan anyway, we couldn't pay a fee and the wages would have to be covered by the parent club.

The only difference between them and us in terms of business model is that they had another club (FC Midjytland) that they linked up with as Matthew Benham had shares in both. SO the likes of Norgaard, Jensen, Marcondes, Bidstrup and Dalsgaard were identified using a unified scouting network. Obviously the Allams aren't going to buy another football club, but some sort of link with a club on the continent would serve us well.
