I wondered if I often viewed Mick Jagger as the generation before me. Although I liked Bowie and Mercury and there was only a few years difference in all their ages. suppose I just never took to Jagger.
That's because they made it so big it became "standard". Generations of musicians have emulated them so now they sound generic. They're generic because pop copied their style. Back when those songs were new, I'm sure they seemed fresher and more unique.
Yep me too. Always thought the Beatles were **** in comparison to the Stones imo. Charlie Watts though. What a drummer.
I dont know, Abba Pre ordained the arrival of Torres all the way back in the 70's. There was something in the air that night!
So would you say it was Jagger or the music you never took to or both? all three great ‘artists’ and performers. You would have to pop Elton John in the mix too, but au am not a fan of his stuff.
Both, I didn't like Jagger and his music didn't inspire me. That's no reflection on Watts, I can only but agree with the well spoken opinions of him. As for Elton, my belief was he was a natural musician, far better than the spin put around Elvis, but it sells merchandise. That's not a slur on his voice, just his playing ability. From what i've seen or read instrumentally Elton and Elvis are miles apart, the former being a natural talent (instrumentally).
...and Messi... Money, Money, Money ... and a scurrilous (and unfounded) Ronaldo ... Gimme, Gimme, Gimme A Man After Midnight
I was sitting on a beach in Mazunte in Mexico. A young Mexican couple walked past and greeted us with 'Buenos tardes'. I replied. He spotted my accent and asked where in England I was from. He erupted when I said 'Liverpool'. 'The city that gave us The Beatles and Liverpool FC!'. He then showed us the inside of his right arm, which had the first verse of I Am the Walrus tattooed on it He was about 25
no need because you know, talking like a man who never had a larger, gin and tonic and baileys chaser You big girls bra.
If I recall correctly, didn't Fernando Torres list the Beatles as one of the reasons he joined Liverpool? I don't know if he was serious or joking but "Thanks Ringo and Co."
