I heard that Nasri broke off contract relations in December which was before we went on our terrible run. If we had won something that season then maybe he would have stayed but it seems like he was mostly interested in money.

I think that was obvious from the moment he stalled contract negotiations and we started offering him more - only for him to turn it down.
It's no coincidence that his form in the second half of the season was terrible.

Why is he being negative? He's just telling it like it is.

He's not moaning, he's just commenting on why Nasri left for City.

You mentioned getting someof the deadwood in the boardroom in the original post. This is definitely what I think we need. The time for Hill-Wood being in charge is over, lets hope someone else can come in and bring the club up to the times. I know that what Hill-Wood said about players being greedy and overpaid is true, but if we want to be successful in these times we need to compete on that basis.

David Dein left he club beecause of differences of opinion in how it should be run and I think it was because he could see we would not be able to compete on the route Hill-Wood was taking. Time has proven him right, so I'd love to see him replace Hill-Wood and get us back into contention to win the league and other trophies.

It was a tough summer and he is commenting on it. Part of that was Narsi leaving for the money, part of it was Fabregas wanting to go home, part of it was trying to find clubs for players who didn't want to be here anymore and part of it was trying to find replacements to restructure the team.

It's his right to comment on it.

And at the end he finishes with a positive, citing the strength of our club to overcome adversity.

    Nothing wrong in that <ok>

That would be a dream come true. <ok>

I don't think Dein will be Chairman, but he would definitely be an asset on the board, to negotiate transfers and work with Wenger as he used to.
His son Darren is an agent, he was Henry and Fabregas' agent, the whole family know the transfer business inside out.

Hill Wood isn't in charge.Basically he is just a figurehead. One of Dein's arguments was about building the new stadium. This is when he first started becoming alianated from the rest of the board.Being involved with Kroenke alianated him further.

By half the squad i think AW was talking about Fabregas,Nasri and the likes of Eboue,Bendtner,Clichy etc etc.I honestly don't think he was talking about RVP or any others who are still with us

  12. Well Nasri apart he didn't name anyone though I wonder why he would say that if Nasri was after trophies we had been more successful in that department than City because the statement relies on and is all about our reasonably distant past. On form, City have won more recently than us with indication of a greater propensity to achieve silverware than us and are currently 1st while we lie 10th. I think Arsene should just concentrate on our current problems and leave the past in the past. We have a future to carve out all over again. The man really needs to keep his eye on the ball.

Our whole team apart from RvP were awful in the last half of the season, its a bit harsh to single Nasri out for it.

  14. If anything and considering the circumstances, he acquitted himself rather well on his last outing for us.

I wouldn't go that far, the only game I can remember him turning up for was against Spurs.

  16. I thought his performance against Pool wasn't bad. Not much else was on offer from our side as I recall.

It's the truth Nasri did leave for the money.

I think wengers comments were pretty accurate. although he did mention 'mental strength' again! the one constant in all his interviews and strangely the one thing we've been completely bereft of over the last few years.
