Another one bites the dust Charlie Watts has died aged 80 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...Stones-drummer-Charlie-Watts-died-age-80.html
I was never a big fan of The Stones but they were infinitely better than the boyband supreme The Beatles.
I've seen The Stones six times. Always fantastic entertainment. I'll always remember the Wembley gig in '99, with the superb Sheryl Crow supporting, because I was sat in the posh seats next to Neil Tennant from the Pet Shop Boys. The crazy thing is this: the previous day I had caught a train from Hastings to London and found myself sitting opposite the very same Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys fame. How bizarre is that? (And no, we didn't hook up on the train and spend the night together in London.) I'd probably still go and see The Stones, but it wouldn't be the same without Chas
They still knock the spots off many of the young pretenders who have come since. Fleetwood Mac with Buckingham and C. McVie will forever be my favourite gigs, but seeing The Stones is always an event and a lesson in how to entertain.
