Countdown starts now. Officially a week left til the window shuts. Time for Fabio and Levy to really earn their dough. I reckon 3-4 in, 3-4 out.
Nope. Gonna say something like: Tomiyasu/ Duarte Aouar/ McKennie Traore/ Madueke (pleeeease go for the latter!). I don’t think we’ll sign a striker and stupidly over rely on Kane/ Son again. As for outs: Sissoko Aurier Ndombele We'll be stuck with captain crab as the dickhead refuses to leave. Then possibly one extra surprise on either side, but likely to be 3 on each I reckon.
He’s Barca’s backup striker so not sure if he’d switch their bench for ours, even if financially they are ****ed. Interesting career though, in the space of about 12-18 months he went from Middlesbrough in the Championship to Barca in La Liga (via Leganes), not bad going, lol.
2 weeks to go - Lautaro Martinez 1 week to go - Martin Braithwaite 30 minutes to go - Frazier Campbell "What's truly in our DNA" - Daniel Levy.
We will do well to ship out all 3 of those. I think that there will be a slightly surprise departure too maybe Ben Davies or Doherty (with Aurier staying). I think maybe Winks will go out on loan with about 10 mins to go on deadline day - Newcastle would be my bet. As for incomings if we got one from each pairing that would be OK, I know so a little about the first 4 that I have no idea if that is going to make us significantly better. I don't see Traore as particular upgrade on what we already have. We haven't done well with 2nd string strikers and Braithwaite looks like just the next one through the door to me and not an exciting addition. Does Mbappes possible departure open up a Kane sized hole in Paris, I am sure that a few join the dots journalists will think so.
Yeah near the start of the window I wondered if Davies might be a surprise departure, definitely not deadwood but if Sess is gonna get the right opportunities then it has to come at his expense. I don’t see Doherty going though, I think the club’s doing all it can to get Aurier out, even though many fans would rather keep him over the Irishman. Think Winks is just gonna be too stubborn to go. I reckon his purpose in life is to depress me. Yeah Braithwaite wouldn’t be exciting but I’d rather have another option up top than not at all. It’s too soon for Scarlett to be Kane’s main backup. PSG still have Icardi so they probably won’t be in a hurry to replace Mbappe just yet should he go, though if Icardi doesn’t produce this season then I wouldn’t be surprised if Poch asks for a Kane reunion. I’d much rather sell to them than City too, think Levy would as well.
Kane has apparently accepted he likely won’t be joining City. Hehehehehehe, **** you, City! **** you, Pep!
Rumour on the grapevine is that he’s buzzing to be playing alongside Winks again instead of de Bruyne and Grealish.
RW Watch/Ligue 1 Rando Watch Jeremy Doku's name has come up in relation with us, and he does tick a few boxes * Has the combination of rapid pace and smooth close control * Somewhat proven commodity, as he has ten Belgium caps * Has age on his side, as he's 19 * Currently carrying a hamstring injury, guaranteeing he won't be regularly starting games for ages, which is how we like to do things * Somehow has less end product than Traore, Madueke or Kvitcha, yet somehow feels like the most exciting option (or second-most, anyway...) On the subject of our switch from big money Serie A signings to looking for value in Ligue 1, I'll hand you over to this bloke So there, we're using our cash reserves to help out clubs that would be struggling due to eighteen months of ticket revenue going up in smoke. On that end, it's also been suggested that one of the bonuses that Metz will receive in the Malang Sarr deal comes from him playing a specified number of minutes when loaned back, which not only guarantees a certain amount of development before he joins us next summer, but also means they are getting an extra season out of Sarr and are actually getting paid for it
The Pathetic claim that the reason Ndombele wants to leave is because Harry Winks started the Season Killer Cup final instead of him See? Winksy does have his advantages
To be fair, it would be a kick in the teeth to any footballer. Note to self, reading too many of DH's posts
