On a serious note, all of us who are saying that Barton should shut up should be very pleased with NW's response. Good to see Barton isn't going to walk all over him. Also good to hear NW singing Adel's praises.

If NW is sporting a black eye tomorrow, we'll have to think again...

There is meant to be a big pow-wow at training today to try and sort out what has turned into a witch hunt on Adel. Does he stay and the team are told to put up with his antics in the same way as last season? Or is he told to shut it, pull your socks up or sod off?

The catalyst for the unrest is undoubtedly Mr Barton. He can't keep his big gob shut on the field, off the field, on radio, on TV, on Twatter, at the players conference, in the bath, on the bog, in his sleep etc. The media have helped turn him into another rent-a-quote clown in the same vein as Neville & Savage. He could be forgiven if he was any good as a player, I have yet to see what all the fuss is about on the pitch.

I'd rather Adel gets the backing and instead of criticizing maybe Barton asks what help he can offer to get the best out of him. Send Barton, Adel, Faurlin, SWP and one of our strikers off at the end of each training session to work out a few moves and set plays. Work out where Adel wants the ball and where strikers need to be to best feed off him. If not then let him go to PSG in January, take the money and buy a lump of a centre forward so that we can play the true Warnock way. Hoof it up to the big man and see what happens.

Whatever we do it needs to be done sharpish. Chelski, Spuds and Citeh are going to make mincemeat of us if we have no team solidarity.

Regardless of Barton, shouldn't it be NW giving Adel the bollocking for leaving Fulham early instead of blowing more smoke up his arris? Maybe morale is so bad because AT is over indulged in case he goes on another sulk?

It is something that should be done "in-house" and not in public. If not, anyone who has a gripe with the manager/anotherplayer/the board, no matter how small and how easy to sort out, will call a journalist or start twatting.

Totally with you Eamon. The less I hear about this crap through the media and on here the better - sort it out behind closed doors and keep a united front in public. When Adel, Barton or whoever steps out of line, 'dealing with it in house' should be the only comment needed from Warnock or anybody else.

heres a thought...Has anyone actually considered that Barton may just be baiting JT so that he goes looking for him on Sunday leaving Adel all the free time in which to nick a goal or three. AS Balderick once said....... I have a cunning plan

The problem with that cunning plan is that Joey's been baiting Adel as well

Hopefully as I said, JT will go looking for Barton to kick him and it will leave Adel with space and as he scores a goal or two, he can stick one or two fingers up at the crumpled body of Barton...who is lying on the LR pitch..wondering whether he will be able to ever tweet again
