Switzerland playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri has completed a £9.5m move from Liverpool to Lyon. The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 club, who say the deal is worth 6m euros plus a possible 5m euros in add-ons. Shaqiri, who joined Liverpool from Stoke in a £13m deal in 2018, started just five Premier League games under Jurgen Klopp last season. He has not been involved in either of the club's league games this season.
We were neither established Premier league, nor championship winners and were under strength that pre-season
But the claim was that Celtic/Rangers are mid table Championship, but we were a league above that and we couldn't beat a mid table Belgian team and squeezed past an average Slovakian team. We weren't under strength, our team for the first leg was: McGregor Rosenior McShane Maguire Chester Figueroa Meyler Brady Boyd Sagbo Aluko Subs: Harper, Huddlestone, Livermore, Jelavic, Ince, Robertson, Elmohamady It was pretty much the same squad that we used in the previous season.

Progres Neiderkorn 2 Rangers 0. Defeat to a team from that powerhouse of European football Luxembourg. Progres have a long history of European success, scoring one goal in total before playing Rangers.
If things go as planned then we should have announcement today also..... So it'll probably tomorrow haha
Looks like a pre season lineup with 5 first choice players on the bench to me - and did so at the time. It was blatantly a case of whoever came back fittest in pre season got the shirt and no one was 100%. Besides I believe we were out spending the old firm back then anyway. Certainly fishing in the same waters.
Andrew Robertson has become the latest Liverpool player to extend his contract this summer after agreeing a new five-year deal until 2026, when he will be 32.
