Isn't it just repeating what we already have? Bergwjin, Lucas, Bryan, Son can all go on a run. I think we need a player with a football brain that can make the moves with the ball. The ball can move faster than any player we just need it played to the right areas.
We already do that with Son and Bergwijn/ Lucas when Kane’s in the side, Adama’s actual end product is no better than any of those, he’d just be quicker but likely wouldn’t notch any more goals or assists than the others. As Adama showed yesterday and against Leicester too, when he’s put through one on one in front of goal he chokes. We’d literally just be paying £40m for a guy that runs faster than Bergwijn but arguably has a worse end product, just doesn’t make it worth the potential outlay in my opinion. Lot of money for someone that doesn’t produce much.
True, but space is created by going past a player (or two). You have to commit players, drag them away from their set positions and Traore's pace is beyond that of Lucas or Bergwijn. He has the confidence to take players on, which ours do not. Like Bale in his first spell, from deep taking out 2 or 3 defenders, dragging the centre halves to wide places, leaving space.
He has it though. There was a spell when him and Jiminez were unplayable for Wolves. The key is having intelligent players to pass to, so the ball doesn't need to be great.
He’s had one good season in the Prem after about 5 years combined with Villa, Boro and Wolves. Most of his crosses yesterday rarely cleared the first man and his ability in front of goal is shoddy. At 25 no major side has shown an interest in him and I think there’s reasons why. Exciting to watch but produces so very little. We have enough players that produce very little at the club, I really don’t think we should be paying over the odds for another just because he runs fast.
agree with this his end product isn’t great but he knows how to break the backbone of a defence better than anyone we have with his running. We can’t think along the lines of but we have got Bergwijn so we dont ‘need’ Traore. What we should do is sell Bergwijn and replace with Traore because his menace during a game is tenfold over Bergwijn…only thing Bergwijn has is that his end product is at best just as bad as Traore’s. This is an upgrade for the squad…we might struggle to shift our players though, that’s a different post.
Adama also tires after about 70 mins, his muscly physique struggles to last the full 90 because of the likely lactic acid build up. £40m for a 70 minute merchant that can’t cross properly or score but runs really, really fast? Not for me I’m afraid, I’d be disappointed if we spent big money on him.
Adama’s stats in the Prem: 142 games, 7 goals, 16 assists. Goal or assist roughly every 6.1 games. Bergwijn’s stats in the Prem: 37 games, 4 goals and 6 assists. Goal or assist roughly every 3.4 games. Not even an upgrade on Bergwijn.
Sarr Watch Metz president Bernard Serin has said that we have a verbal agreement in place and that we are in negotiations over a contract, while also confirming it will be a buy-and-loan-back, while also stating the final deal will be worth more than the €15m quoted Kessie Watch Because it wouldn't be a transfer window without one, Alessandro Jacobone claims that Paratici has met with him and his agent and offered him a contract worth €8m a year for five years, which works out at £130k a week Of course, the fact that Milan are desperate to tie down players to longterm contracts after losing Donnarumma and Calhanoglu for a combined total of €0.00 this summer might have something to do with Kessie's agent suddenly telling the first journalist he could find about us offering a rather tidy contract...
So how will everyone react if Kane is sold on the last day of the window and then a ‘cheap’ replacement is bought in or not at all and it works out that the club will have a negative net spend over the window (including the figures of the loan to buys)
I think he creates more openings for others in a game we’ve got people like Son and maybe Kane who have elite conversion figures. I just think he creates more openings than Bergwijn does….for our better players to finish. We should be but I don’t think we really rely on Bergwijns goals..he doesn’t score enough for us to be reliant on him…I’d happily swap the 2.
It's a no from me re : Adama. I liked him alot when he was at 'Boro and would have taken him but now? Yes he was terrifying yesterday but as has been said; at the end what else does he give. And when others have said we've already got similar players, I'd add to the mix Sissoko. He is muscle and can run fast with the ball, and when he goes on a run he can be brilliant. But as we all know he has no end product and we all want rid of him.
I don’t think he does create more openings because he rarely beats the first man when crossing. For all his skill and pace yesterday I don’t remember him laying on a single dangerous chance for any of his teammates. Bergwijn done the best skill of the game and should’ve had an assist for Kane, he also had a good shot saved by their keeper in the second half. Adama arguably had the best chance of the game when one on one and he bottled it, he done similar the week before against Leicester too. I think Bergwijn’s all round game is better as well, works a lot harder defensively and he can last a full 90. Bergwijn still has a lot to improve on but he’s two years younger than Adama and has a better ratio for goals and assists.
I think there’d be chaos. We simply can’t sell him now, it’s too late. City have had a whole window to do so and if we make the same mistake as the Berbatov sale then it’s gonna be a grim season. Worse than last.
Adama creates problems, fullbacks can't sit tight because he can run in behind so the opposition defence would have to sit deep and give Kane much more time to operate. Adama should of scored and was unlucky not to get an assist. Bergwijn played better yesterday but needs to do that more often to command a place in the starting lineup. I like Moura but he tends to come inside when he receives the ball. I think Adama gives us another dimension. I think training and playing with Son and Kane would improve his final ball and finishing.
He creates problems for a fullback but he doesn’t create enough problems for the goalkeeper/ centre backs. For all of Adama’s pace and skill, especially first half, Lloris could’ve had a nap. Then he faded quite badly in the second, made one or two runs, this time on Reguilon’s side and faced similar issues, think all of his crosses went straight to Dier. It feels pointless being so good at running beyond a fullback only to then pass or cross to the first defender afterwards. Somewhat feels like a unfavourable cycle with him: Gets ball > beats full back > passes/ crosses to first defender after that > and repeat
A 40 million Adama would not be a 40 million upgrade to the team , I am sure Bergwjin is short of confidence in front of goal , get a couple and a good run in the side the lad will come good
