It is likely only me, but I think this chap will be an upgrade on Bednarek.

An upgrade on Bedders costing south of 10 million with a patchy appearance history? That's some good green you're on.

I think “will be” is the the important part of the above. Doesn’t necessarily mean immediately

As opposed to the larger band of fairly criticised players? :bandit:

I dont get the negativity. Not so bad on here, worse on SWF, but I still dont believe we have signed him to be back up.

For ages, people have been wanting a tougher CB, who is pretty quick, aggressive, good with the ball, good passer, and composed.

Now he could go all Steve de Ridder on us, but he seems all these things listed above.

I couldn’t give a **** right now how much Torino fans want him gone, he played a lot last season, and was dropped towards the end of the season, likely to have fallen out with the manager.

I’m right behind the club with this, they have a bit of transfer credit in the current account just now after some good buys, and for getting rid of some serious ****. That said, I still think we need another 6, back up LB (hoping this kid from Everton as I’d heard a bit about him prior to our link), and please can we get a new GK? Without, I really do fear for our season.

No chance we’ll sign a new keeper. All the comments from the club suggest we won’t sign anyone at all (after Lyanco).

We really need another CM, though.

Ralph has said the keeper signing is a discussion for next summer. I’m guessing he expects Fraser to leave and McCarthy to sign extension. Would explain why Fraser not getting picked though I still see him as the better keeper

I would encourage everyone to listen to Total Saints Podcast this week at least from 23 minutes to 36 minutes where they discuss this transfer

A mutual fan of Torino and Saints sheds insight on why the Torino fans might be so keen to see him go

Then an Italian football journalist provides an explanation as to the situation he has been playing in and under there

Put simply the club was a bit of a chaotic mess and he was expected to carry them out of it, in a position where mistakes are highlighted and also be a profit spinning transfer - as a foreign signing in his early 20s

I am struggling to immediately think of a parallel closer to home but I am sure there is one

Those are the least imaginative responses I have ever seen to a set of questions.

I don't think I would want to sit next to him at supper and try and strike up a conversation.
