I hear what you say, but it’s the complete lack of backbone shown by Starmer and his front bench in facing down the lies that frustrates me as much as anything. He certainly hasn’t done anything since he became leader to make me support his party, other than being vaguely not as bad as the other lot, which isn’t saying much. This forum wasn’t around the last time any other party was in power or you would have read a lot from me criticising Blair and Brown, particularly over the Iraq War, which Blair lied about over and over again, and for saddling many NHS hospitals with Private Finance Initiatives, which effectively put them at the mercy of venture capitalists.
So your happy to be lied to repeatedly, daily and happy for billions of pounds of tax payers money to be spunked up left, right and center? And are you saying we should all be lemmings and just let it happen? I find that really quite strange that you repeatedly come on here and defend Boris and co time and time again. Very strange.
Why do you even care what I think - i find that harder. Behave Richie, saying lies (like Boris) about I repeatedly come on here - I haven’t been on this thread for ages, and barely post at all nowadays, and mainly cos of the **** i get from people like you, Jabbo, Badger and that **** from Norwich. I dont defend Boris, I usually say **** cos it is funny seeing how you all flap about **** you cant control - pretty much what is happening right now, as it happens. I think Boris is a ****ing moron, and one of the worst prime ministers we have had. I take a more light hearted view on life, some posters here get all pissy about **** they cant control. I’m not happy to be lied to, that is an assessment you are making out of anger towards me, basically cos you dont like when I post on this thread. Ive never said I’m happy being lied to, I’m not saying you should all be lemmings - you are free to do what the **** you like fella, I couldn’t care a less about you, what you do or think. Stop trying to make **** up Richie, read stuff properly and dont be so angry all the time on here - it doesn’t always have to be serious The one thing that sits on my mind is what does all these posts, all the anger, all the pointing out about lies, what does/have it achieved? Maybe if it carries on, the public will vote for change at the next GE - who knows, but I think the biggest issue stems from (as someone else mentioned i think) there isn’t anyone credible to make the change happen.
No one has really posted here in ages, but today some of us did ……and lo and behold you pop up to defend this government again and again.
Ok, whatever Richie - you must be right - I mean ive been waiting for people to post on this thread (which I’m entitled to do as much as you btw), ive been going out of my mind with it. I fail to see how you feel I am defending this government - you clearly have an agenda with me, and dont like me, which is up to you. It is a shame cos I have liked reading your posts over the years. Clearly you haven’t read my post, in which i have said how i feel about Boris. Can you explain why, if you read that, that you came to the conclusion I defend the government? And btw - if I wanted to defend the government, that is also something I am allowed to do- you know Richie, are you suggesting we are all lemmings Anyhow, I’m going for lunch, can you let me know if I’m allowed to post on here, or any other thread, when ive finished, cos i dont want to offend you
You said the other day we should fact check everything, now the so called 48 new hospitals is actually new wards etc you are now saying to ignore it? Make up your mind for goodness sake. As I said before ….very strange.
I dont know what your talking about, i dont recall saying anything about hospitals. I cant be arsed to go through my posts, but literally have no idea what youre talking about./ Look Richie - In this thread you take me far too seriously, most of what i say is in jest. Again, if i said something about hospitals, the fact i cant remember it kind of proves my point that I’m not serious on here. I think you take everything I say as opinion or fact, and it really isn’t. I think today you are playing the poster, not the post, as I haven’t defended the government.
Hospitals is an example, when people quote about anything you said to fact check ……basically saying untruths were being quoted.
Richie - to make it easy i found my last Politics Thread post: Ian Thumwood said: ↑ The comments by Cummings over the last few weeks have been interesting for the same reason insofar that they have made little impact on Boris's reputation. I think this is because this is entirely what they expect of Boris and most people accept he is incompetent. It does not matter how bad he is if he is perceived as giving the people what they want. It is interesting insofar that we always think of ourselves as being superior to the Americans yet Boris is Donald Trump refracted through a British lens and people still voted for him and will continue to do so in future by-elections. I think it was Armando Iannucci who made the salient point about current politics being beyond satire and I think this is probably the most succinct comment about the state of play in the 21s century that I have read. Boris's government could be considered to have almost no shame. I was surprised by Javid's return to ministerial office as I would have thought he would have distanced himself from Boris to avoid any guilt by association should he ever consider himself as a future Tory leader. Boris has set an unprecedented low for the standards of being a PM Yep, I wouldn’t disagree with this Ian, and my main point on this thread is firstly the general state of Politics, the way the system works etc. I think you could replace Boris with previous PMs though, and insert a different clause for the level of low. So Tony Blair for example with the Gulf War, Maggie for more reasons than I have time to list, and I’m sure others have lots of other people/reasons. I dont know history as well as I would like to, but I am sure there were a time in British Politics where Politics was run and administered in the correct manner. And secondly, I find it funny in a weird way as I think no matter who is in power, the end result will largely be the same. I made a comment about a heart ago about the Pied Piper, and a couple took exception claiming I was calling people on here rats, which I genuinely wasnt. My point is that the majority of this board are Labour supporters, who vehemently attack everything about incumbent Governments, being very personal in nature often with articles that may or may not be true. Yet seemingly would happily blindly follow their own party if they were in Power. And this is the issue I think with Politics, and if I may add, the way the media directly inbalance the output of politics. To me, the rich and powerful have always run the media, and Politics is now used as a conduit to get what these people want. The voters are merely pawns running between making it all come together. It is why I dont vote, and likely wont vote. #30523 Power to the Billies, Jul 21, 2021 Hardly repeatedly is it fella, and hardly defending the government…
I think that was months ago, like maybe last year Richie, and i did say Badger kept posting stuff, and some of it wasnt true - I said by posting that **** is damaging, and actually you have highlighted that posters on here are also capable of doing the things they deride Boris & Co for. I’m not sure what point you are making Richie, I’m not sure you are either. I haven’t said anything about Gov spin on Hospitals or new wards, I just asked a Q about why it was so relevant, and why people get shocked when they here it from the Government, as in it happens so often why the surprise. Anyhow, I’m happy to leave it for now Boris, it is clear you aren’t keen on me, and think you are suggesting things that aren’t true or haven’t really been said, or taking **** out of context. It isn’t really adding to the quality of this great thread is it, and I’m sure others cant be arsed to read it
But it’s stopped people talking about the disaster of Afghanistan, empty shelves and not being able to get chicken or a McDonalds milk shake, so job done.
I had a text message from my doctors’ surgery this morning telling me that due to a national collection tube shortage they can only perform blood tests on critically ill patients. What a ****ing triumph!
It's a fiendish plot by those bloody foreigners in the E ewe. They'll want us to follow the rules that apply to other non-E ewe countries and abide by the treaty that Boris negotiated and signed whatever next!
