Sissoko being linked with a move to Qatar I guess he's realised he won't be in the World Cup squad next summer...
I'm a bit concerned at the lack of a back up striker, a position we needed to fill the moment Vinicius left and one that has nothing to do with Kane staying or going. As good as Son is, we've seen time and again that he isn't the type of player to lead the line. Players like Llorente and Vini played crucial roles while they were here and I've have thought Nuno of all people will remember the time Wolves beat us 3-2 when we had Dele Alli leading the line because Kane and Son were injured. So far there hasn't been a peep about filling the position and i'm getting worried. Unless the plan is genuinely to promote Scarlett to backup striker?
Journalists have repeatedly said another CB, RB, CM and ST are on the shopping list. Whether we get them all remains to be seen though. Think a lot is depending on shifting players out to raise the money for them.
Well a decent striker these days can cost anything from £100m upwards, do you think Daniel will part with that kind of money?
I remain mystified by the terminology 'leading the line'. No team has played with a forward line since the late 60s. Son, Bergwijn and Lucas played very well together at the weekend. We definitely need another forward of some type to provide additional cover but I am not really fussed about what style of player we bring in.
Apparently we’re looking to made a bid for Granada CB, Domingos Duarte. I wanna sign him, not because I know if he’s good or not but that is a quality name. Probably could’ve been a cocaine dealer if his football career never took off.
While the BBC are going with footballer doing the job he's paid to do shocker Wolverhampton Wanderers v Tottenham Hotspur: Harry Kane travels with visitors' squad - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58193450 I am curious what reaction you think Kane should and will get. I doubt there is a Spurs fan alive that is not disappointed with his methods to secure a move, does this justify forgetting the stellar service he has given us, not to mention the joy he has brought - I refer you to multiple winners v the Goons. On balance I hope the response is good to him, we want you to stay chant ringing around the Spurs section today. I fear we will give him a negative reaction. I understand it, but really hope it doesn't happen. Any views?
Nandez Watch It appears that a deal is back on, with La Nuova Sardegna claiming we're signing him on a loan with an obligation, claiming we're offering a €10m loan fee with a future fee between €15-20m next summer (aka £8.6m loan fee with £13-17m next summer)
I'm pretty much the same as you. Everyone should be peeved with him for how he and his knobhead brother has gone about things but in the last 7 years he's provided us with some of the best memories that are only bettered by winning a trophy. He holds a number of Spurs records too - top Prem, Europe and NLD goal scorer, all of which will likely not get beaten for many, many years (if at all). Plus he has the most Prem goals in a calendar year and a number of individual honours, both at Spurs and in football in general. I joined in the chants last week of "are you watching?" as I found it funny but I'd never boo the guy, not unless he went Chelsea or Arsenal from here which it's safe to say isn't happening.
It's one thing criticising a player on a forum or in the pub etc. but something else to do it at a match...that only leads to demoralising the team imho. If I were going I wouldn't chant his name, I would cheers the team on, applaud him onto the pitch and would cheer if he scored ... but no way would I react negatively (and I have a strong anti kane reaction).
